I'm not really into haul videos, but I watched because it's Sea Lemon and I love this channel. I like how you used your haul video to describe some ideas you're having for future projects. That's one element that made me really enjoy the video. But I really can't wait to see what projects you dream up and decide to film! May I make a video request? You have a creative mind, and you described in part your thinking process. Because I have ADD, I find it very difficult to organize all the ideas that fly away as soon as they land onto a page. Would you take us on your creative thinking journey from the beginning concepts to the final project results? It would be kind of like a "behind the scenes" of your tutorial video, without the tutorial (unless you wanted to add that part). Thanks again, Jennifer!

I recently got into the ARC system and I LOVE it! I'm in Europe, so my choices are kinda limited but that's okay. I'm a writer, so I print off a lot of character sheets and things like that. The ARC system now allows me to put all the information together in one place and move things around if needed. I actually bought some more today. Last time I bought A4 sized stuff, but most of the things I work with are A5, so I bought some A5 supplies today.

I have the Levenger medium punch, and started with Circa. I was gifted a happy planner, jacked.some pages out of it to work in my 3 Circas. So, yeah there really aren't enough disc colors in ANY brand. Easy fix, careful application of your favorite nail polish and a heavy clear coat. I tried acrylic craft paint and sealed it but it was harder to work with and began to chip a bit. Just be careful at the edges so it doesn't get to thick and interfere with paper going in and out. I used my super big Circa clear discs, did 1 set with dark blue and blue glitter nail polish, LOVE THEM! Had a mess of the tiny black starter circa discs, 1 coat white polish, 2 coats robin egg blue, 2 clear. I did a purple, mustard yellow and magenta set as well. Just like when doing your nails, thin coats, plenty of dry time between each. I stuck them on a craft fowl through the hole, balanced it on books with clamps while painting. Nothing to stick to like if I was painting one side at a time flat on wax paper, faster as well. YEAH, I'm spray paint, don't go there. I did a set of 8 of small black discs with a chrome spray paint, thin layers, dry between each as directed. Chipped fast, got to thick so didn't pop in and out easily. Nail polish. Sticking by that one, it works.

I have just got some of those thin, plastic flexible cutting boards. I plan on making covers for my DIY disc notebooks. they are stiff yet flexible and will be great for covers. I might have to use my crop-a-dile to punch the holes and kitchen scissors to cut the slits but that should be be hard to do. I got some on Amazon that are different colors. 👍

The first discbound video is when I swapped over from my 3 ring binder. I also found out about the Happy Planner and now have one. I use the Office Depot/Max Tul brand punch (with a coupon and sale I got it for $26, cheaper than Arc, Levenger, and the Happy Planner punch) it is listed to go through 6 sheets and I find it easy to punch through laminate. I also have Arc's portable punch (1 sheet) that from 4 months of use has gone a little dull. There's also a brand called discology (spel?) that I've seen in craft stores, the discs are each a different color making a rainbow effect, haven't heard much. There's also a discbound marketplace on Facebook that has discs of all colors and sizes for sale along with supplies. I love the discbound system and would love to see tips and tricks for it.

Thank you for showing me the disc binding system. I got creat365 puncher from Michaels using 50% coupons and My Walmart has the 2inches disc rings 12cts in hot pink for $0.75 clearance from i365 Walmart brand, so I got ten packs, that’s 120pcs disc rings I like the flip on short edges too . And so I use 8cts per 100+ notes . I am so happy! Now all my microbiology notes and ppt print are disc binding g and so convenient!

I'm so glad I found disc binding, I was trying to find a solution in reusing old notebooks. I don't always use all of the pages in my notebooks after each term and it makes me feel terrible that there's nothing I can do with the loose pages but recycle them. With disc binding you would be able to save money by reusing those sheets and adding more paper to the notebooks and still use your notebook as a spiral. I hope this catches on or the dics become cheaper, or I watched a video of a man that creates things from melting his own plastic waste, if those people made discs we may have just solved 2 waste management problems in the world today.

I've been disc binding for years. I started with Levenger. I think the biggest reason it's not very popular is that for a long time levenger was the only one you could get and they really are price prohibitive. But with the Arc system and now happy planner. I think it's popularity is rising. I love my happy planner, and I'm always making stuff for it. I have made laminated covers and I prefer to use the thin cutting boards from the dollar store that you mentioned more as a protective cover than a cover by itself. I decorate them with the vinyl wall stickers you can pick up just about anywhere. You also don't have to have the punch to use the system. If you have a sheet of paper that has the holes in it already, you can use that as a template, use a regular punch to punch the holes and scissors to snip out the bit of paper that's left.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I think I remember that in your last video on discbinding, you were talking about the punched part of the page being hard to keep attached, especially with lighter weight paper. I have found that if you reinforce the edges of your pages with washi tape or something similar, it keeps even copy paper in there well. I think I first heard that from MissVickyBee, and it does seem to work well. I don't have a disc punch though, so I'm not sure it would go through the tape. I just used a 1-hole punch and scissors.

Hey, Jennifer. After watching your videos on disc binding and doing a little research on my own, I jumped straight into it and I'm loving it. It's super easy to use and incredibly versatile. However, I'm starting to run into a little problem with it...is there any way that I can rebind my bujos/planners/notebooks etc and recycle the discs in a way that I can archive the booklet and still retain the function of it?

Staples in my area used has a lot of different colors. Bright pink, blue, purple, orange, and a couple others. I don't think they still carry them anymore, though, sadly! I do wish there were more options. Disc binding is still the only thing I use for all of my school notes / handouts / anything else important for class, it keeps everything so organized and in the same place.

Cut the holes of the side off a poly cover and pouch holes in the top. The covers are a little bigger than the paper so there's room. You can also find clear cutting boards at the dollar store. That's what i used. I just put some scrapbook paper behind the clear cover.

I can't be without my junior size notebook. (My 3x5 notepad too.) IMO those rings sorely needed to be covered. Otherwise the added stress from pulling it in and out of my purse wears out the covers. I experimented with slip-type book covers until finding one that slips easily. It's not perfect. I'm thinking a better solution might be a fabric strip sewn or glued onto a plastic cover similar to Mead notebooks. Do the rings wiggle catch and annoy you? Thanks so much for sharing such wonderfully clever and efficient ideas with us.

If you put around a long piece of tape to protect the edge of your cover board, and then punch the holes through, the paper layers of the board would probably not split. So you could use whichever board you want and protect the binding side with tape.

ARC has covers that are the same weight as the dividers, so you don't have to cut the tab off.

I love my disc binding system, but my biggest problem is sorting them. I will fill one up, and want to keep all the papers or notes inside, so instead of taking them out I just buy a new one. And these do not stack or sit well on a shelf, and they don't look that great o a shelf either... so, I was wondering if you could come up a with a way to bind these punched papers into a hardcover?
