I completely understand low attendance at DGPT events. While I’m a fan of the DGPT, they clearly don’t care about spectator experience and retention. I paid $35 to see one round of the Music City Open this year. It was pathetic. The course was so blocked off, you could barely see anything. And trying to walk around without going somewhere that was “players and VIPs only” was nearly impossible. Not going back

Playing for $ requires officiating, scorecards should be kept amongst players,i.e. A keeps B, B keeps C, etc, ball golf has been doing this for decades.

Yet another reason why the Self officiating at Pro Tour or Qualifier events for Tour/majors needs to change and be eliminated. I get it for lower events A tier and under being self officiating with a Few almost Pro tour/Qualifier events or former top level events possibly having the officials too.

@@campitts9356 The Pro Tour can pay for a set of officials at each tournament that had to pass the same tests that a director does. they need not be on every card but need to be where they can cover the most ground seeing as much as possible with a few courses needing them on every hole due to being throw and hope.

@@caseysmith544 prize money is already a joke and you want to cut it in half. It would cost thousands per event to have that many offials. Lol H.S. sports refs get over 200 each for day events. Add in lodging and meals and times that by number of cards. You cant pick and chose what cards get a ref. Good luck with that.🤣🤣

@@campitts9356 I never said what cards, they are on course mainly on holes, the Tournament can pitch in too but I feel that the Pro Tour has taken over these events to the point that only a few rare Pro Tour tournaments get to be a semi independent event working with the Pro Tour now since the most recent changes in the 2020's before the end of this 2023 season making it so these events get Pro Tour Takeover with basically volunteers including former Director being in charge of the Pro Tour. If the Pro Tour would quit buying out Tournaments only to drop a number of them That are not a joke like Las Vegas and how much artfical OB they needed on the other course that was not a Golf or the fact the other course ends up being yet another Golf course, they need something rather then the self officiating rules they are using now.

i have been playing disc golf for 25 years now. I saw the only fist fight i have ever heard of on a disc golf course this year. It was a legit throw down with plenty of blows and blood. Please, let smaller/faster groups play through. you never know who is waiting on your third shot off the tee.

covid brought out thousands of disc golf illiterate. they have no clue as far as respect and flow of play. i play thru groups of 4 or better all the time and they act like i'm holding them up! i have had a few heated discussions recently about playing through groups only to pass thru and finish and see they have played 2 more holes..disc golf was WAY more fun 25 years ago! no idiots, no litter, no vandalism and lost discs were returned. now it seems most courses are full of newbs with their $300 bag, 30 shiny new discs, and that 800 rating

@@markmcgarity I agree with everything you said. I also see 17 year old children crushing discs forehand and back hand and making C2 puts like I never could. The sport is improving and so is the player base. I do really miss having the course to myself though.

@@markmcgarity absolutely not. Disc golf is both an activity and a sport. You do not have to be competitive to take part. You dont need to challenge yourself in disc golf which attracts lots of beta disc golfers and sht people who were never good at any other sport. These betas still desire power and they seat themselves in positions in the sport which gain them influence through nothing more than organizing events. The old guys do whatever they can to maintain that influence and power and act as gatekeepers of the sport. The new gen might be whiny cowards but lots of the old gen are sociopaths hiding behind titles and positions.

I was watching the FPO. I really find woods golf boring. Wathing the players chop their way down the fairway is mind numbing. The sport was designed around the fact that discs were meant to fly and fly far. Jonesboro has the best combination of technicality, yet still be relatively open. LVC is ideal for discs, provided there is not a hurricane blowing. Portland is a nice balance also.

Sorry but you are just straight up wrong. The only thing that makes disc golf interesting is the woods holes. Nothing more boring than an open disc golf course with nothing in the way.

Tell us how you aren't good at hitting actual lines without telling us you can't hit lines. Discs are MEANT to flex and turn. They CAN go far but were designed to fly in neat ways and players have overtime perfected ways of getting discs to do some incredible things. Throwing far isn't what disc golf is about. It's one of the like 10 things that disc golf is about. Woods disc golf shows who can actually play when the wooded course is actually done the right way with fair lines.
