For a Chinese movie, it's just amazing how much talent they brought over from Japan to make the dancing and the drumming accurate.
@matrimcauthon79377 жыл бұрын
The dance was made up for this movie. There are taiko drum clubs all over the world, so don't be surprised that those are Chinese drummers.

If Vietnam produces an ancient war movie depicting the Chinese invasion and annex of Vietnam, any Chinese actors who take part in the movie will be branded a traitor by their fellow Chinese. The Japanese have taken part in war movies which portrayed the atrocities the WW2 Japanese army did to the Chinese, Koreans and Taiwanese.

Maybe a western audience wouldn't notice or even understand the difference between the Chinese and the Japanese, but a Chinese audience would expect that the Japanese troops to be played by Japanese actors and vice versa.

If anyone knows their history, or has even seen the film, they wouldn't be talking about how "cool" this scene is. It's not meant to paint the japanese in a positive light or negative one. But this scene screams with atrocity. Beautiful film, expertly crafted to show the inevitable truth of war.

The bandit-hooligans not only spread the red virus to the Koreans, but also brainwashed their people to take part in invading the Korea Peninsula, bringing calamities to the people of Korea, separating families, and resulting the Koreans still living in a hellish prison today. The Americans helped stop the communism poison from spreading and South Korea became a democracy, in which the people enjoy freedom, prosperity and human rights. When China decided to open up, South Korea, together with the US, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore supported it and participated in heavy investment, transfer of technology knowhow and sharing economic wisdom. All these countries are not framed as 'anti-China'.

The movie is pretty accurate, but I think this they made up, basing it on traditional Japanese ceremony dances. The Japanese army had a traditional military parade. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Just from the dramatic point of view, this is much more gruesome, especially after the monstrosities we've seen.

Given that this is a Chinese made film, I will always remain amazed on how well the Chinese know so much about how Japan honors the dead. Yes, the Japanese made an egregious and unforgivable massacre that should be punished, at least it respects the culture of the time. Nanjing Massacre During the Japanese occupation of China, an estimated 30 million Chinese were killed. In the Nanjing Massacre,at least 369,366 people were slaughtered and 80,000 women were raped by Japanese invasion troops. The horror began on the morning of December 13,1937, when the Japanese Imperial Army captured Nanjing, which was then China's capital. Thousands of women were raped by Japanese soldiers; death was frequently the penalty for the slightest resistance by a victim or members of her family. Many women were killed after the act and their bodies mutilated. For the next six weeks, while horrific rape continued, wholesale murder of male civilians was conducted with the apparent sanction of the Japanese high command.

Ok I'm going out to say this and take it as you will but Asians have been especially cruel to eachother for 1000s of years now the Japanese have been worse even before the 20th Century. Look at the Invasions of Korea in the 1500s....bringing loot they pillaged and trophies aka the heads of the Koreans they killed. Mostly civilians. This shit isn't new....it isn't even just set in just Asia or Japan! This shit has been going on since we Humans discovered we could kill eachother just by looking a little different! Numbers of bodies doesn't matter! Crime is a fucking crime! Nothing that will change what happened! Whinning about it wont help. No matter what happens this will happen again with another militaristic culture. All we can do is be aware and hope and work as hard as possible to minimize its affects and maybe even prevent it from happening again but us yelling at others and eachother on the internet on our comfortable sofas or chairs is NOT doing shit. So....hush and watch.

The western world doesn't realise that the average Japanese soldier had more respect and were more fearful of the Chinese troops (CCP or KMT) than they had of the American, British, Australian, Canadian, Indian, Gurkha, Fijian, etc forces. I am not sure of the exact numbers but I think that more Japanese troops were killed or wounded in the fighting in China than against the US, or the British Empire forces in either Burma, the Philippines, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, and the Pacific Islands. This isn't meant to be a controversial comment, but according to the memoirs and the post war interviews with the survivors, many Japanese veterans said that many Japanese troops considered the Chinese troops to be a tougher enemy than the other opponents that the Japanese faced. My point is that few western people have any idea of the 8 years of fighting in China or the Chinese contribution to the defeat of Imperial Japan.

China is shamelessly and ungratefully bullying little Taiwan, Vietnam and has been bullying the Tibetans and Uighurs. The Han Chinese expanded its territories by bullying and invading the homelands of the minorities. China invaded and annexed Vietnam in the past for more than a thousand years. The Chinese have never felt guilty or shameful that in the previous century, it exported the communism poison to the Korean Peninsula and Indo-China, bringing calamities to their people. Are you not aware of Malaysia and Singapore were also victims. Do you know the Chinese in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Indonesia suffer atrocities as a result of China's spreading its Maxis venom to the region. Go study modern history. China has always been bullying the weak but has never have the guts to confront powerful nations, such as Japan and Russia.
