Most companies that allow you to request your data do this long wait period because the download expires after a certain amount of time, usually around a week after when you most likely forget about it. By the time you remember, it's most likely expired, and you have to submit another request this mainly is done to deflect any people who dont really care about thier data as much but do when news like this break out

Pretty much any company that you have an online account for does this. Because this is how they collect their data to sell to advertisers. You can request your data from a lot of large companies, I did so for google some time ago and they knew my age, gender, occupation, home address, work address, interests and much more. If you have a problem with this then you have nobody to blame but yourself for using these services in my opinion, because there is literally no way these services would exist for free without them doing this. It shows that people don't expect some "big brother" "Cyberpunk" future, even though were practically living in it.

they arent collecting data for advertisement but for ai analytics, a beta feature in discord developper portal which display an analytics collected by the assumed age and gender to display age and gender on a analytic thats why it's only for specific discord partner servers because those one have the analytics. While I get why, predicting someone's age purely through how they talk is gonna be EXTREMELY hit or miss. Do you realize how many people I've talked to don't even bother practicing basic writing techniques? God help them if English isn't even their first language! With the current forced arbitration bs Discord has enacted upon its users, I highly doubt this is gonna be used for the right reasons. The answer to this problem is right there in terms of reporting the person and hopefully getting them IP banned, but Discord has also fucked that part up in that if you get a whole server shut down, THEY PUNISH YOU TOO. 🤦

Even buying shoes at Nike, they're tagging your email/cc hash/address and your shopping habits (shoe size, shirt size, time of purchase, frequency of purchase, how often you browse, which categories, etc).
