Discord added new markdown features for 10% of Discord servers, including mine, so, in this video, I will tell you how to use it, how it's useful and how it literally crashes anyone on Discord desktop on Windows. So yeah, sit back and enjoy...

This new markdown feature is just great; I luckily got access to it on my server as well and if I compare the look of the text from before and now, the difference is just huge. Headers add so much to it, as well as the dots

@@FaceDevStuff That would be in fact dumb as many people started to use it quite a lot. I would honestly appreciate this markdown feature a lot more than Clyde xD One thing I would however appreciate with the markdown is some kind of a line, like a line in html. I know it can be achieved using ▁▁ symbols, but if it's too long, people on mobile see it differently than those on PC etc.. Some line which would change the lenght depending on what device you're on would be pretty good in my opinion, but that's just me dreaming at this point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@Locoo yeah that would be great, I was also thinking of a table feature where you can use the markdown syntax to create tables in messages, for example: -------- | A - b - c | -------- | Some - values - here | But hey, Discord adds something and then forgets about it for the rest of their life, so I doubt we will see the line and tables added.

@@FaceDevStuff You're right! Tables would also be really helpful. ChatGPT can do it, why couldn't discord do it? :D These tables would be amazing to list what features for example each rank has in a column with an X or a Tick. There are so many ways how this could be used, but you're completely correct that they add something and forget about it. I guess we'll have to continue using images for that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Markdown feature aside, the video was straightforward and came exactly to the point. Today I made an update log in my discord which contained "-" in the beginning of the sentences and turned to dots so I wondered what's happening. You're like the only guy that made a video about it (If I don't count NTTS), so thank you very much for it!

What i'd like most out of markdown is wavy text, something like some undertale or paper mario dialog if you know what i'm talking about, but i'm afraid it's too heavy. 😢

I just found this video trying to find the markdown text that everyone is using now, apparently it's not in discords official wiki, which is frustrating. But, a bit late to the party, markdown text is actually a built-in feature of HTML, as that webprogramming language is actually a markup language. Just like steam and other sites like it, they use HTML bc it is lighter to use for markdown text. The reason why I'm explaining how discord renders markdown, is not just for people who don't really know too much, but to explain that HTML is very basic, but can be used to maliciously crash clients browsers, as it's essentially just code u run on your local machine. Put in a bunch of random code that the browser doesn't understand, or put in a shit ton of ambiguous characters that the browser can't handle and it crashes, this is quite literally how u make malware. I'm pretty sure that this exploit no longer works, but i wouldn't be surprised if someone found a way to exploit this "new" feature on day 0, hence it being a day 0 exploit.

Sadly Discord reverted the markdown, removed hyperlinks, and added markdown back. Users can't use hyperlinks anymore, but you can still do it using: bot / webhook.

It's not like everyone is up to date with discord, the world isn't filled with programmers so don't be 'that guy', and think that you're the only person alive
