dang, Darren ! Was looking at this the other day, mainly because I have grass all around and the side skirts would protect the stack against dirt pretty well. And it's a steal ! Only other frames I can think of that protect the stack against prop dirt are Catalyst Machineworks Shocker and Five33 Footy, but at a much higher price tag. As cool as the XT60 in the back at 07:00 is, you cannot use this with INAV because you need the space for the GPS with a compass. I personally wouldn't want it above the camera.

True about the GPS position. I tend not to run GPS on my 5” and just use BetaFlight. The other option is if someone designed a TPU housing that could have the XT60 and a GPS. That’s the cool thing about this design. My main concert with having the GPS there is that it’s also next to the antennas for the RX and FPV. Not great for RF noise. Having said that. My 7” will have the GPS in a similar position. I’ve just not seen how good or bad it is yet.

Darren, Hello from Des Moines, IA, USA. I have a great idea for INAV it would be nice if the 3D Cruise had an altitude adjuster. Put an OSD element that says "Requested Altitude", and then we could put it on a rotary switch and set it up or down as we like. Then the plane will stay in 3D cruise, and climb or descend to the requested altitude!

You can use the pitch stick to increase or decrease the altitude in cruise. For longer climbs or descents. I use the auto climb feature I added to my transmitter. I made a video on that not long ago.

@@MrD Thank you sir. I do use that feature, (just using the pitch stick to adjust altitude.) It would just be neat to "dial" in a requested altitude during cruise. I will look for auto climb feature video that you've made.

I don’t think that would work as well to be honest. You’d have no control over the rate of ascent or descent. It will just be a preset value. Using the climb mode, you have full control.

@@MrD Thank you for your reply. I watched the auto climb and descent feature video. It is a cool way with lots of safeguards to knock it off when necessary.

Good video to follow along with my first build, question does that kit come with capacitor or do you have to provide your own?

The kit doesn’t come with a capacitor. They usually come with the flight controller.

There are some 3D printable parts available. Which put the GPS at the back, near the antennas. I’ve not installed one. So can’t say how it would perform there.

hi Mr.D, do you know why on a quad after arming only throttle works but no yaw, roll, or pitch? in receiver tab I see roll, pitch ,yaw & throttle move as they should when moving radio sticks... I'm trying to configure INAV on my Speedybee F405V3

They won’t work until the quad takes off. The throttle needs to bypass a threshold before the 3 control axis work. It’s not the same as BetaFlight. Where you can do racing starts.

@@MrD thanks for your reply. that is surprising, I didn't know that. is that documented anywhere?? I searched and found nothing about my problem. nevertheless I'm not comfortable with that. I took off from the ground and my quad approached the wall and the sticks didn't respond so I disarmed and the quad dropped on the floor. I still feel something's not right, it can't be true that the 3 control axes wouldn't work.

@@flat-earther of you have taken off. You should have full control. It sounds like something isn’t set up correctly.

@@MrD I was using 5% idle throttle. today I have reduced idle throttle to 1% and managed to fly the quad. still, I would like to enable the 3 axis control with zero throttle like in betaflight.

@@flat-earther that isn’t possible with INAV. It’s only needed for racing launches. So not required for a navigational firmware.
