Today finds us in Stanton Arizona deep in the heart of gold country. Stanton was founded around 1863 and grew around the local gold mining claims. In this video, we take a motorcycle ride up to an old gold mine and the remains of an abandoned stamp mill and prospector shack. Plus, we see two abandoned gold mines that are ripe for exploration.

Brings back memories of fiur wheeling everwhere...with my good buddies who would end up face down in the gravel at camp after drinking all day! Such fun! Barf proof shoes were a must ! Really enjoy the smells, scenery of the high desert! Wish I was out there too.! Neat video ...thanks !

Riding in loose sand can be tricky, but I've seen you handle it. I saw the video where you added the new bike rack and it looks solid. I do get a tad nervous when you're in that rocky terrain. I think I've seen 2 times where you've encountered rattlesnakes. Looking forward to your SW adventures as you share so much of your knowledge and I always have something to learn. I watch some mine explorers from the UK on here and it's rare they can show the outside of the mines because they gotta keep things hush hush, I'm always interested in seeing the landscape around mines so I'm glad you decided to record that little wander :)

I tried to take a dual sport bike out there after a rain. The ground turned into red mud inches deep. I barely got out of there and everyone parked out there was immobile for days. They used to have yearly GPAA hunts with hundreds attending. Someone would usually find a big chunk of gold.
