Did you know that Istria has its own desert? Next to Šterna/Sterna (Grožnjan), nestled between woods, fields and vineyards, lies this otherwordly area of hills made of marl, a type of mudstone which resembles sand and, thanks to erosion, can lead to the formation of these very peculiar dune-like landscapes.
