Let me tell you something right off the bat-Turtres is the tastiest dish in Ladin cuisine from the Dolomites. Whether young or old, everyone rushes to the table when Turtres are on the menu. There’s no need for anyone to shout that lunch or dinner is ready!
Getting my wife to agree to film this video was a challenge. Turtres recipes are closely guarded secrets, passed down through generations. Each family in the Dolomites has their own unique twist, making these treats extra special. You’ll only taste these on special occasions, and each version will surprise you with its unique flavor.
We expect some local farmers' housewives might say their version is tastier, but that’s part of the fun. We’re excited for you to try making them yourself and can’t wait to hear how your Turtres turn out.
