Not everyone on earth pronounces things the same way. I'm a New Yorker. You should hear me say "coffee" and "drawer." Yesterday I heard an Australian pronounce "Oregano" as OR EEE GAH NO. But I still knew what he was talking about. That's the way the world is. People pronounce things differently. :)

There is a difference between how something can vary in pronunciation based on one's own language and dialect, vs. mispronouncing something due to ignorance, being uneducated or just sheer laziness. Of course, there are those who overdo it, pronouncing Paris, for example, as a Parisian would (in French), when everyone knows where one is referencing when they speak about Paris.... regardless the language one is speaking in when describing the location. And now note, for example, how ALL OF A SUDDEN, almost every reporter (whether on site or not), has suddenly learned that Kiev is only one syllable....even though, of course, it always has been. From the suburban American dining rooms of the 1950's, to the immigrant Brooklyn kitchen tables of Canarsie, to even the present day dining room of the Russian Tea Room--people have been ordering the ever famous "Chicken Kiev"... When Kiev was ALWAYS pronounced with two syllables (KEY-EV)! Now introduce a war, the internet, and some international affectation, and we are all saying "Kiev" as it was always meant to be! Live and learn!

Depends on where you are from. Have you ever heard anyone from Boston say Park? Have you ever heard a New Yorker say coffee? Not everyone on earth pronounces words the same exact way.
