Jooheon, I.M (long blonde hair), and Hyungwon (the one in the beginning) write and produce most of their songs, and their lyrics can be spicy sometimes lmao. The other members are Kihyun (the one who sings the high notes) and minhyuk (pinkish hair). Their leader shownu is currently serving in the military! I think you would like Gambler! They’re incredibly talented, both rappers can sing, and they are all incredible dancers.

Jooheon and IM in Monsta X write all their own raps with the group and solo albums . Jooheon has written and co produce the last three comeback singles. 8 years in the K-pop industry. They all have their own individual talents that is 🤩 amazing

Monsta X is so diverse, but their style has definitely matured in the last couple of years. You can watch their old stuff to kind of get an idea of them and their powerful side, but Love Killa, Gambler and Rush Hour are definitely more grown. Monsta X debuted in 2015 and were all older debuts. Maknae ( dancing with cane) is '96. Eldest is not shown here. '92 liner currently in the military 😔. So older debut means grown folk music. Especially the b-sides. Monsta X is special in that they have 2 English albums. I recommend at least giving those a listen because the tend to promote those a lot when touring. They are extremely well done. Best English Kpop by far. They even have some member composed English songs on their Korean albums. My current favorite is from the new album. Wildfire (the rap is in Korean and the rest is English.) Give the newest album a listen. It's incredible. It's hard to pick a favorite album because their newest is always my favorite when they drop. And yes the rappers can SING sing. They have had a rough past and gone through a lot but they are strong and resilient.

Dreamcatcher is a group that usually mixes rock sounds with other genres to create their own pretty unique sounding songs. Since you're going to kpop flex I'd suggest listening to "Scream", "BOCA", "Odd Eye" and "BEcause". I've been following them for a long time and I think these are the songs they'll be most likely to perform along with Maison. There's also a chance they'll do "Black or White" since it's a fan favourite. Even if you're not into rock Dreamcatcher have a lot of great music for you, the majority of their Bsides aren't rock focused and span a variety of genres from R&B to trap to EDM to Jazz and of course they have a beautiful selection of ballads. I think "Red Sun" is a pretty universally loved song from them if you'd like to check out something non-rock related from them, there's actually a chance they could perform this too. Hope you enjoy kpop flex, my ults are Dreamcatcher and Monsta X but that lineup is filled with incredible acts. Wish I had the funds to attend myself but unfortunately it's just a bit out of range for me. Glad these events can start happpening again though!

There was a lot of drama surrounding Dreamcatcher a few years ago (2019) when they were (allegedly) robbed of their first win for their song Deja Vu on SBS's The Show. I am so incredibly happy that not only did they finally get their first win just last week, but this week they got their second win on the same platform that refused to fairly award it to them in the first place. The girls work so hard and have given their all for so long that I just couldn't be more ecstatic. If you're interested in learning about Dreamcatcher's history I'd recommend Mera's video "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher". It's a little outdated now but she has updates and corrections pinned in the comments. If you want to listen to more DC I recommend their 3 part series "Scream", "Boca", and "Odd Eye" which are about trying to create a safe online community in a world full of rampant e-bullying and slander/defamation. You won’t regret looking into monsta x honestly! They’re all multi talented. The group has: lyricists, composers, producers, they can all sing and dance amazingly, choreographers, musical instrument players, multi linguals, radio hosts, can paint/loves art, photography, human rights ambassadors… just there’s a lot and I love how you could pick up that they had a hand in making the music they’re singing. Jooheon/Joohoney wrote (changkyun/I.M wrote his rap verse)and produced this track as well as the last two title tracks :). Jooheon and i.m are also in the top most copyrighted artists. All members had a part in making the album. Mx’s sound is also very diverse, so many genres they play around with (they often get called aggressive but??They have complete duality) And yess they have been around for 7 years now and you can see their confidence and development. They originally had 7 members but Wonho is now a solo artist (due to unfair circumstances) and shownu their leader is currently in the military. Also, their b sides are incredible honestly the b sides are something else and they have two fully English albums, too. Plus, they’re all such lovely, funny, caring people. The girls in the group IVE are almost all under age so this is why they going for the school uniform and this is very popular in Korea. the oldest is born in 2002(Gaeul with the short hair) the leader is born in 2003 (An Yujin former IZ*ONE member and she start the song) Rei 2004 (the girl you ask if she was Korean and no she isn’t she is Japanese) Jang Wonyoung (the girl in the center a lot because she is VERYYY popular, everyone knows her in Korea and is also a former IZ*ONE member) Liz 2004 (Blond hair) and Leeseo the maknae 2007 (red hair).Btw they are rookies, they debuted in december 2021 and they got their first win 7 days after debut (this is a record) and in total they got 13 wins with their debut song ELEVEN and so far I think they have 5 music shows wins with LOVE DIVE :)

love dive is about narcissus, greek god, he fell in love with himself and while looking at his reflection in water, fell in and drowned aka love dive "a perfect sacrifice" im like 99% sure on that (they also literally sing im narcissitic, god i love it, while mimicking a mirror with their hand), there is the heart pool in the beggining and then at the end one member falls from a springboard at the end. school girl outfits are def sexualized but its such a popular thing in kpop and like everyone wears uniforms to school there, so i think they look at it dif. its not like they put them in skimpy ones, it geniuenly felt like a specific styling choice - gossip girl esque...or like barbie charm school, so the uniform made sense to me, there is always gonna be creeps looking at it wrong, also the youngest one only turned 15 this year:/ so ppl were already a bit eh about this concept and the dance break

Yep, Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 They are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home" (seems like I don't have to tell you that, hehe), and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder have done it again, and the members are just brilliant.

Monsta X are the most talented, manly and versatile group today. They are a group of six members but the leader is fulfilling his mandatory military service and therefore is not part of this video. You have to give their music and their discography a chance. They have everything and for all tastes, although their root style is generally aggressive. They also released two albums in English where they show their more pop side, and their music usually has mischievous sexual references. The rappers duo are incomparable and YES..they both also sing amazingly. There is not a single missing hole in monsta. i love all these groups, especially Dreamcatcher (who won their first wins recently after 5 years in the industry or actually 8 years ago since they were "Minx" before) and thank you for reacting to oneus because they are extremely underrated even though they won their first win with the song you reacted to finally! also, i see no one talking about AB6IX, their songs always hit so hard and the melodies literally drawn you in so close! they aren't as popular as the other groups, but there were two members previously in a mnet survival show that debuted as Wanna One who were really popular at the time and then they had to disband bc mnet groups have short contracts, but they redebuted as AB6IX. This is similar like IVE because two members Yujin and Wonyoung were previously in IZ*ONE another mnet survival show group but also had to disband after their contract ended. With Monsta X they just never miss LOL and their rappers and high notes go HARD! *(also, girl I love how you are always shocked to see rappers singing haha, bc there are A LOT more of those in the industry because so many people are such all rounders)*

These girls are middle to highschoolers, they’re popular with Korean gen z girls and even global audience. The song lyrics is about them being narcissists, they’re luring you into falling in love with yourself and “dive” (lyrics are based on story of Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in a lake and drown himself) so yeah they’re seducing you to d.i.e lol Kpop 4th generation girlgroups (Aespa, Itzy, Ive, NMixx, Stayc…) embrace boldness and confidence. Groups like IVE and STAYC with high teen concept, have higher portion of female fans! The teens are obsessed with this kind of uniforms nowaday.

By the way, Dreamcatcher isn’t combining fairytales and super heroes. They have a common them of being witches in their Mvs.

Their title tracks are mostly rock / pop, but they always have different influences (Scream for example is more EDM). Their b-sides are very diverse, you'll find everything from rock, a bit metal for their Japanese releases, Jazz, EDM, anime openings to soft ballads. I swear ONEUS is unique. They are always doing different things so their music is very diverse. Kpop fans see them as a vocal focused group but Leedo and Ravn are excellent rappers who also write their parts, their choreographies are very dramatic, almost theatrical so it is wonderful to see them on stage and the MUSIC IT IS SO GOOD. Besides Luna and Lit are influenced by their culture and they are proud to represent it through their music.
