Might add one more thing to the fire selector, it's cosmetic but still, the first use of it can require some force due to wood still being stiff, you might wear out the pin and the piece on top of it (B11) This might result in the top piece being loose and not satisfying to move around Here's a fix: just stick a match between B11 and the pin, and then break it off, sand a bit and it won't be noticeable

Never mind! I found where I made a mistake. F7 wasn't the issue. I had installed F1 upside down and is was catching on D32 when I pulled the trigger. Once I flipped it, everything worked right!

The whole reason I created this video was because I had issues with my rubber band chuck and I googled and youtubed for a while to find a solution but literally found nothing and had to figure it out myself. So I’m glad I can help folk out with their builds 🙂

Hello, my husband is building his and has gotten to the point where his will shoot full auto but it won’t shoot both bands on single shot, it shoots the first band and resets the next band but then fails to fire unless switched back to burst. Any ideas?

FIGURED IT OUT!! He forgot to put the pin into the fire selector assembly which caused the legs to kick up separately and block the ability for the buffer assembly to slide. All better and shooting smooth now!

Hello Sarah, oh that’s an interesting situation. Does the piece that slides up and down just above the trigger move when he is trying to fire the second band? It could be possible that some sort of piece in the mechanism might get stuck after the first fire. He could also open up the covers to see inside after the first shot to see if anything looks different compared to a non loaded AK.

Nice video I got the rear wheel going good and the select fire but it’s like the recoil spring is super weak and won’t return the carrier. Any ideas

Hey, thank you very much. This could be possibly due to having too much friction in the chamber, you could open it up and wax the whole inside and also wax around the big bolt piece or however it’s called. If that doesn’t help, you could pull the spring a little to make it longer, hence it will provide a bit more power.

The bolt on mines just forces its way through the brake without the trigger being pressed. How do i fix this?

Hey Charles, it’s been a while since I put this model together, but see the bit that’s next to the trigger and it moves up and down when the trigger is pulled, I’ve got that feeling that it could be something to do with that as that’s the piece that holds the bolt in place from what I can remember.

Thank you, I had misplaced the brake and it was allowing the bolt to go through without pulling the trigger. Its fixed now

when i fire the first band the hook doesn’t fully come back so the next band doesn’t load so i have to manually put the bolt back each time idk what to do about it does anyone know what i could do

Hey, there could potentially be 2 things going on. The chamber and the whole hook piece could have too much friction when the hook is in motion. So you could open it up, sand a little around the chamber and the whole hook piece and then also wax both. Hopefully that should solve the issue. Would love to know if it works out 😊

My is not shooting at all. The puffer is not moving. What can it be?

Hey Robert. To me so far if your buffer hook isn’t moving at all, it tells me that you may have assembled or placed the step 1 part incorrectly. See in instructions step 1, find where the parts D11 and P6 have to be put together first and then put in between D9 and D10, and then make sure that it’s placed in the slot correctly, so the angled side has to face towards the front of the gun. And/or you have possibly somehow put the metal rod through the gun just below the part mentioned above, if so, make sure you push that part mentioned above down first and then put the metal rod through the gun. If it still doesn’t work, let me know 🙂

Hello everyone! I'm a beginner enthusiast in this type of model-making, and I have a question. The kit came without the corresponding wax. Is it possible to assemble the model without using the wax? Could the model have issues in the future if I don't use it in the mechanism? Do you recommend purchasing wax to use? Thanks in advance, and greetings! ¡Hola a todos! Hey Javier, I hope you’re doing well 🙂 You definitely need to wax the necessary parts as you will see in the instructions, otherwise your AK with have too much friction on the places that need to be waxed and your gun won’t work properly at all. So what you can use is a birthday candle for gears and a different/normal candle for flat areas. Or you can also use Vaseline or beeswax, these 2 are great for the wax coverage 🙂 And best of luck with assembling this model, I hope everything goes well 😊

Hey, it sounds like the ‘V’ shaped bit behind the fire selector could be at fault if it doesn’t shoot automatically. It could be installed incorrectly, or just needs a bit of sanding and waxing. As for the reload, if the rubber band chuck is correctly assembled and installed, you could sand the whole buffer hook rectangle and use plenty of wax again as there may be too much friction for it to return and hit the rubber band chuck for it to reload.

My gun shoots perfectly fine but it doesn't shoot back to automatically load up the next rubber band, not sure if it's just a spring problem or something with the build

A viewer Liz in the comments section had the same issue. And I thought she had issues with the rubber band chuck, but all it was that she had to do was to sand off some burrs where the spring is internally and it started working perfectly fine. Can you please double check the internal parts and your rubber band chuck and let me know if it’s all okay or not.

i was playing around with it and it turns out that my screws that were holding the barrel to the main mechanism had been tightened too much and that was affecting the spring somehow. i loosened them so its tightened to a touch and it works perfectly fine now@@MartinsAssemblyHaven

My chuck is working just fine. The problem I'm having is that when I pull the trigger, the spring-loaded F7 piece that's right in front of the selector rotates CCW and locks the bolt. The D10 bolt lock goes down just fine when the trigger is pulled, but the F7 piece locks the bolt from going forward. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just finished mine but the bolt isn’t going foward loosely and without ease, is there something wrong? When I was building it, it was easy to rack it.

Hey there. Did you make sure that you sanded the bolt part peaces to make them all smooth and then wax them fully. That should make it nice and loose 🙂

Oh that’s interesting. Have you got any candle at home? Just use that to wax the pieces 🙂 Just so I understand, when you load up 2 rubber bands, one on the wheel and one on the buffer hook it doesn’t fire?

My gun does not shoot the rubber band. When I attach it to the Buffer Hook, the bolt just moves forward but the band is still attached to the hook. I don't know what mistake I made. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey Fabio, so to me it sounds like your actual buffer hook isn’t moving/may be assembled incorrectly because as the buffer hook moves forwards, it also has to lean towards the front of the gun at the same time and that’s what makes the rubber band slide of the buffer hook 🙂

@@MartinsAssemblyHaven the buffer hook is built correctly, but when i pull the trigger, the bolt does not go all the way to the end (which is necessary to shoot the rubber band). It stops after like 3/4 of the path. Why is this happening?

Hey Fabio. It could potentially be because there’s too much friction. Makes sure that the whole buffer hook/bolt rectangular piece is sanded smoothly and the inside of the ak chamber as well and wax it all to make it slide as smooth as possible. Fingers crossed this helps 🤞

Don’t know wether I sanded too much but the second a rubber band touches it automatically fires as if I’ve pressed the trigger but I havent

Oh that’s not so good. Have a look at the part between the hook and the trigger that moves up as you pull the trigger. Is it long enough that it doesn’t allow the hook to move forwards when the trigger isn’t used. If it isn’t and you’ve sanded the tops too much you might have to replace that part or maybe try and glue on a bit of wood, although I’m not sure if that would work.

I was hoping I can find some ideas on how to fix my gun whereby during reload (doesn't matter is single or burst) there is a 50% chance that 2 rubber band get loaded onto the hook and I will shoot 2 rubber bands at the same time, do u have any insights? Thanks!

You’re definitely right there, had a great time and I hope you did too 🙂 So looking and the instructions and the AK, would it be possible that you sometimes forgot to turn the wheel back when you load it as 2 rubber band then go on 1 leg and then loads 2 on the buffer hook? The other thing could be your spring assembly on the fire selector. Just check if the spring has been placed in correctly and right to the end. I hope this helps, if not I could open up my one to look even deeper at the issue 🙂

Oh yeah I’m seeing it, that’s annoying really. Hehe I’m talking about the small spring where the fire selector is installed, that switch that you use to switch from single to burst fire, could you check that it’s been installed correctly? 🙂 If that is all okay, then my only thought would be that the rubber band chuck back leg may not be returning to its place fast enough to stop the wheel from turning forwards twice instead of once. Hhmm, it’s a bit puzzling.

Hey. That’s a bit strange as it definitely is strong enough. Have you made sure that the whole peace that buffer hook is on has been sanded and waxed as it could be that there is just too much friction when it moves. Or the rubber band chuck might be too tight.

@MartinsDoesWoodenModels mine also didn't come with wax, i tried using some candle i had laying around. All the mechanisms seem to be functional, i think it's just the friction, I'll sand and wax and see if that does the trick.

Yeah friction has a lot to do with the functionality, the more wax the better 😁 And yeah candles are a great replacement and let me know how it goes 😊

Hey, Yeah definitely, I would wax that whole area where the whole hook piece sits in and the whole hook piece and then it will run really smooth 😃

You can just use any candle that you have, or vaseline or beeswax. I hope you tested it halfway through the build in case something doesn’t work properly as then it’s a bit of a pain to open it up 😬

@@MartinsAssemblyHaven so I put the first band onto the chuck, and then I put another on onto the buffer hook like you did. But the hook sprung forward and didn't stay in place like yours did

Great tips! I have a different issue though, The Chuck always spins twice instead of just once when shooting, so I always get two rubber bands loaded on the buffer hook. Do you have any idea what’s wrong, how I could fix this? I checked every tip in the manual, I assembled very carefully everything…

Hey, thank you very much 🙂 One of the the viewers here has the exact same issue and it’s actually very hard to locate the fault here. But just the first couple of things to check is, are you sure that you rotate the wheel backwards whenever you place a rubber band on the legs of the wheel? Are the wheel pointy legs facing towards the back of the gun and not towards the front? Is the spring installed correctly at the fire selector, making sure that it’s placed right to the end of the groove/hole? Could you check all of that for me please and let me know how it goes 🙂

@@MartinsAssemblyHaven thanks for The input! Yes to everything, I triple checked everything when assembling and even now I’ve checked again.. I numbered with a marker every side of the chuck , and it almost always spins two 90 degree turns.. it should be 1-2-3-4 and again the same… but it’s always 1-3-1-3 for instance. I put my finger on the chuck to slow it down, and like that it spins correctly just one quarter turn, loading only one band each time, as it should. I’ll keep checking and probably see if rokr has any more troubleshooting tips

That is a very strange issue. What I can do is open up my one in the next few days and try and see if I can make it reload 2 and then I’d understand what might be going on 🙂

Oohh no, sorry to hear that 😣 The best action would be to dismantle it and basically start again, but very very carefully following the instructions and making sure to sand everything well and basically over wax the necessary pieces 🤞

Don't worry I fixed it already I found out that it's too mechanics was too rough probably I forgot to lubricant it but now I can shoot it but not very accurate
