Just to clarify a genetic study of 111 aboriginal Australians (published BBSRC 2011) shows that our Aboriginal population descends directly from an early human expansion from Africa into Asia over 70 000 years ago, 24 000 years before their European and Asian counterparts,. They arrived over 50 000 years ago moving around the continent over the next few centuries and remaining isolated for tens of thousands of years. They were the first modern humans traversing unknown territory in Asia and across the ocean to Australia.

@@caniceedward Unfortunately, that is the reality of our history. Slavery brought African people to many different regions of the world. We should celebrate that these peoples were able to ink out a culture in modern society.

@@doleofdolonia8859 the indigenous population of Australia arent here because of slave trading. Not related one bit Theyve been here for 40-60 000 years. Probably of African origin migrating over land bridges to what is now Australia becoming isolated and seperate once the loceans flooded those land bridges. My basic knowledge not an expert. But nothing to do with slavery.

We’ve all been on different lands for a substantial amount of time that we may not even be able to trace forreal. This makes my heart smile.

What's really important to know is that all modern humans are descendents of those who migrated out of Africa and inhabited distant lands thousands of years ago. Evolution and climate adaptation has created circumstances that birth different skin pigmentation. While it is cool and interesting to know about these dark skinned peoples of Asia, it is important that they should not be lumped into the broader Modern African diaspora. They certainly share a similar skin pigmentation and hair structure but should be considered distinct enough to be a separate people group from those directly descended from modern day Africa.

All people are derived from the human population that migrated from Africa. The process of evolution causes change in isolated populations, thus as groups split up and became isolated, superficial characteristics such as skin and hair colour have modified. In this way, there are hundreds of distinct facial types amongst the various human populations across the planet.
