Nice video Phil!! Meant to comment on the last video, but I'm glad you're doing long form videos again. I always preferred them over the shorter videos. Even though I'm not a pro detailer, I always find some useful information that I can use when I detail my own car. Keep up the hard work Phil!!

Alittle anger, cut fingers, bleeding, frustration, and some good old-fashioned elbow grease. Can it be any better? Lol. I have a gut wrencher. Did a 1 step on my friends pickup, followed by a ceramic coating. It turned out super nice. Taught him how to maintain it, and he turns around and buys a car wash pass for a non-touchless. Extremely frustrating. Sickening feeling in my gut. Thanks for your hood protector video. I'll need it. Hi wife!

Nice truck! Looks FANTASTIC after the clean-up. I can't stand it when people put plastic crap all over their vehicles. I can neither confirm nor deny that I may at one point in my life have been guilty of doing that with chrome LOL but never with this WeatherTech stuff (I have since repented and changed my ways). Their mats are fine I suppose, but I really don't "get" why people go all-in with it and slap it everywhere. I'm IMPRESSED how well that hood front-edge cleaned up - NICE WORK as always, sir. 😎

Hey Phil. First, I had a very similar experience with a bug deflector on a Ford Fusion. This particular type was installed with set screws that tightened against the under side of hood. Water would gather around the screws and over time it created a mix of rust and paint fading. I vowed then that I would never install a bug deflector on any of my vehicles. Second, that was a great recovery from that issue and it was corrected with a lot of knowledgeable skill. Especially the watering sanding. Nicely done. Till the next one.

Hi, I Personally installed the same kind of hood protector knowing it would be a pain to remove it and could cause damage underneath, but with Ford pour paint quality it's even worse doing nothing to protect it, had so many chips in the paint at this exact place in only 300 km, it is a pain to remove but protect way better than doing nothing 😉 but for sure you need lots of patience to remove it 😅

Never thought you could remove the double sided tape with the DIY waterless (Yvan would be proud), you could most probably remove all the sticky stuff with their DIY tree sap remover, from what I understand

I agree with you Phil, could you use the the eraser wheel to remove the adhesive or you probably wouldn't agree with me but what about gasoline to remove the gummy residue that the adhesive left behind? Awesome video.
@MirandaDetailing

Yeah but the wheel makes a huge mess. I hated using it, so I stopped years ago. Gas can work , but I cant use that since it smells so bad in the garage. but Im sure it dissolves the glue also.

and regarding "disposable" towels, most of my micro fiber towels are the inexpensive (but still good quality) big box store packs. Granted i'm not a full time detailer, but for me most of the time I'm 1 and done with them. They get cycled through various use stages, depensing on contamination... outside wash inside wipe down wheel wipe hand washing general automotive cleanup eventually they just get bad enough they'll get used to soak up some oil/chemical spill, then into the trash they go.

I removed three of those so far, and I didn't like the wheel since it's kind of difficult to keep the distance steady from the panel. I used Koch Chemie Eulex so it would remove not only the glue, but when I let it dwell first besides using the blower, it was easy to remove it. The third one I removed, I used DIY Detail sap remover since also works for tar and glue
