How do you go about chrome bumpers on these newer trucks if they need touched up
@MirandaDetailing7 сағат бұрын
Hi. You mean if the chrome is scratched or chipped and needs touch up? If so t there is nothing we can do. Just polish and protect. But if the chrome is scratched or chipped, it just needs to be rechromed.
@ArthurMSoto7 сағат бұрын
@@MirandaDetailing yeah i meant what’s a good polishing combo. I know a lot of chrome varies on each vehicle and most these days is made cheap, but on the “real” chrome.
@MirandaDetailing6 сағат бұрын
@ArthurMSoto oh I see. I would just use the same polish that I use on the paint. Chrome is very forgiving and easy to polish. I microfiber hand application of any polish will work great.

I applied the wet wax all wrong. I sprayed it on a dry car and wiped each section off right away with 2 towels. It is so smooth to the touch and beads like crazy.

Yeah you can apply that way also, but it applies with water much easier.

An idea just popped into my head about the problem you have with latex gloves while coating. How about using thin leather driving gloves? The benefits would be that they absorb sweat naturally and can protect your hands from coatings. I wouldn't think it would be harmful to paint, it's not like you're trying to touch the paint during a coating.

That’s a good idea! I’ll have to try that! Thanks for the tip

As always “excellent video”👍✔️🙌…. Have a question for you. I have a black 2015 GMC Yukon Denali XL. It’s got almost 200,000 miles on it’s my daily driver. I have always taken really good care of it. Recently it got some over spray of something on it from driving through some road construction. The wind was blowing and sand was blowing everywhere. Long story short, I had to do a good clay bar cleaning over the entire vehicle as the contamination was horrible. This has left some heavy marring on the paint. I have tried three different cutting compounds (Mequiars, Pinnacle, Turtle Wax) with a microfiber pad and a heavy cut foam pad. I am using a Flex XC-3401 da polisher. I have been able to remove about 60% of the marring from the paint. But up close inspection you can still see some marring. From 5 feet away it looks amazing…lol… What products, pads would you recommend next. Or should I just let it be and not chase perfection? Like I said, it’s my daily driver with some high miles, but looks good still…Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙌🙌. You and the wife stay safe and God Bless 🙏🙏

HI Phil, One thing I have always appreciated about your videos is that you are very much a realist and very practical. I am curious when you use one of your twisted loop drying towels to apply that ceramic topper, do you typically do a presoak with a microfiber cleaner after? Or do you just wash normal and move on with your day? I know what the "right" thing to do is and how to care for them, and I do in most cases, but just cant always. Do you have concerns with using that sealant with a drying towel and it causing the towel to lose its absorbency?

Not sure. With atv plastics they flex and bend a lot and lacquer or clear coat could crack and chip over time. So gas this wrap has held yup really well. Plus if it starts to peel or gets damaged I can just peel it off and redo it.

Hi. You don’t have to recoat the area you polished with Essence plus. It didn’t remove the main coating, it just removed the high spot, so you don’t have to worry about redoing the coating. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/icealaSnu7rGj2w.html

When I’ve done these kind of jobs I always also do the panels adjacent to the repair. The insurance company is paying for it anyways and it’s good to be on the safe side because as you know, the last guy to touch it owns the whole job. And because I don’t know what ceramic coating was used I go with the best 5-8 yr rated product I’ve got. Something I wished more coating companies did is to provide a little sticker of what the product is that you can put on the door pillar(like what Gyeon provides). Also, as a tip, write down what product you used on the back side of a business card and put it in with the vehicle owners manual.

Hmmmm.....looking at the bumper/backside is very intricate. Crazy curves. Another reason to have some sorta mini polisher. On the front hood, I noticed a black area that is gloss black and matte black. (Strange). How would you go about putting a ceramic coating on matte painted area that shares a gloss painted area? Wouldn't a ceramic coating gloss up the matte paint? What a beautiful car! I think you 2 should buy one. Lol. Hi wife.
@MirandaDetailing4 күн бұрын
Hi. Yeah it’s very intricate. Coatings can go right over matte vinyl and not cause it to be glossy at all. I have coated vehicles before with matte pieces and simply go right over them. It doesn’t change the look and cause it to be glossy.

There is a new Max coating from McKee's that they advertise that can be used over other coatings, it doesn't matter if they are not from the same company and if they were applied recently or one or two years ago. I did it on one that I had applied a month before (although it was the same brand) because I didn't really like the behavior of water on the original coating. The application was easy (after chemical and mechanical decontamination) and I am happy with the result. Time will tell what the durability will be (the durability announced in the most recent one is 3 years and the previous one that I installed has an estimated durability of 10 years). If this coating does what it offers, it could be a very useful option when you have to work with pre-installed coatings.

I’m new to learning about ceramic coatings and the process to apply and what the best practices are to get the best results. In the last minute of this video you mention making sure the product is properly applied and then wiped off. I’m a little confused about how it works if you wipe it off after putting it on? Thank you.
@MirandaDetailing4 күн бұрын
Hi. We have tons of videos on applying ceramic coatings. Definitely search out channel for them. Coatings are applied, they sit on the paint for only 10-30 seconds depending on the ambient temps, then wiped off to level the carrier fluids and help it evaporate and leave a glossy slick surface. It. It wipe off properly it will leave wipe mark that need to be repolished. Hi. Gloss is so subjective. I honestly can’t really see the difference between any polishes and gloss levels. As long as it’s glossy, that’s all I see. Pretty much any polish paired with a medium pad will remove a 2 year coating.
