Discovering What Remains of the BCER's Lulu island line!

In today's video, we embark on an adventure to discover any remnants of the now defunct BCER Lulu Island Line! From following the original route to hopping on aboard an existing original tram! I hope you learn something new from this video!

Frank Horne and Vic Sharman (narrating the burning of a 1700 series interurban freight motor) were two of my mentors who taught me to drive cars #1207 and 1231. Don Bellamy was the other one. Don's famous comment to me was "Well Peter, now you have ALL our bad habits!"

Thanks for watching! I wanted to incorporate as much before and after footage as possible to show how much has changed in the past ~~70 years. Probably should have drawn out a proper storyboard before filming though…. 😅😅

Well enjoyed this, seen much before but much new. Grew up in Richmond, used Lulu Station, moved to Marpole in 1947 then tram to school. There is some editing needed however, 1:59 2:08 35:38 not busses but buses, 6:09 Power poles (two words not one), 6:23 Arbutus line not arbutus (several more places, proper name), 6:42 not lighting company limited but Lighting Company Limited, 7:03 ...global depression in the 1890's (says 1980's), 7:37 & 8:50 23:26, 23:30, 29:52, 30.43 says Lulu island line, it is Lulu Island, proper name,, 12:25 Marble Bridge should be Marpole Bridge, 13:55 100 metres not meters, 14:05 capitals for airport name, Vancouver International Airport , 20:12 i guess, try I guess, 20.34 also don ??what??, 23:18 arbutus again, Arbutus, then i should be I. Lots of work to produce this, tidy it up. Also thanks for latest follow up coverage of June 21 fire, local media forgot after fire.

Thanks for pointing out my mistakes. 😅 This is my first ever “proper” video, so in terms of editing, practically 0 experience beforehand. I plan to recreate this video in 2-4 years time, as I am heading into journalism for post secondary. Definitely many things I could work on such as story telling & fact checking. 😅 There were mistakes I myself found whilst editing, but due to deadlines I didn’t have enough time to refilm certain scenes.
