Preaxher wampler will always be a blessing in my life. I’m thankful for the many years setting under his preaching, at church and at bible college. Though I have grown in my theology over the years, and in some places we stand on differing sides, he will always be one of the best blessings I’ve had. He instilled in all of us preachers to love our bible and to study it, not just take what someone else says.

This guy is a good representation of your average independent baptist. There is a wide spectrum, but the top 10 preachers that I listen to for the most part hold to this guy's view. A lot of people like to cherry-pick extreme examples and then say that all dispensationalists to believe a certain way. I'm thankful for you brother Tommy giving him a chance to explain the position.

Only one Gospel that reveals the wonderful mystery of God's Wisdom! Isaiah 61:1-2 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;" Galatians 3:8-9 "And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham." Hebrews 4:1-2 "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it." Revelation 14:6 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people," Titus 1:2 "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"

The Gospel is not just the cross. The cross is HOW salvation was accomplished. Rather the Gospel is the good new about Christ acomplishing the things God promised us. John 11 exchang with Martha and Jesus is a good example of saving faith even without understanding the HOW of the gospel. It also shows salvation and kingdom is parts of the same gospel, only now we have more of it accomplished and know more of the how.

Pastor McMurtry gave a good explanation as to the question of whether there are multiple Gosples. I also appreciate Pastor Wampler's explanation as well. Unless I'm mistaken, it sounds like Wampler would agree that there has only ever been one gospel which has been progressively revealed through biblical history, the full revelation of which wasn't known until the finished work of Christ. One question that I would have for Pastor Wampler is if he would agree that the gospel, or good news (bisser/besorah in the OT) was about the enthronement of a king and/or the defeat of a king's enemies, and if so, how that relates to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as revealed in the NT.

Saying that we should hold up the Jewish people because they gave us what we have is like the Catholics saying that we should hold up Mary because she gave us Jesus. Mat_3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below? Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. God is not now a "racist". He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son's blood at Calvary. Paul warned against using "genealogies" in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9. =========== Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ? (Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30) The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations? 1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? (See Paul’s interpretation in Galatians 3:8, 3:16.) 2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ? 3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds? 4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh? 5. Who is replacing the word “remnant” in Romans 9:27, with the word “nation”? 6. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers? 7. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"? 8. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost? 9. Based on Hebrews 12:18-24, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.) 10. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? 11. Watch the KZfaq video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church. Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church: “The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.” Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107. Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne,’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.” Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323. John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated… "...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.” John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.) What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16? (See what Joshua said about the Old Covenant land promise in Josh. 21:43.) Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth? Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups? Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and is it fulfilled by the blood of Christ at Calvary in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 12:18-24? Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church, if the New Covenant is “everlasting” in Hebrews 13:20? (See also 2 Thess. 1:7-10) If the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant “obsolete” in Hebrews 8:6-13, why would God go back to the Old Covenant system during a future time period? Read the recent book "The Rise and Fall of Dispensationalism", by Daniel G. Hummel.

@@SpotterVideo - All right, Brother, let's talk about this respectfully and as family. First, OF COURSE Jesus is the king of Israel in John 1:29, and of course Jesus is the son and heir to the land in Matt 21:37. I suspect you know I don't believe otherwise. The issue is that a lot of folks in your camp copy and paste that whole long daunting list -- not daunting to me, but to many new or immature Christians -- which has a few truths in it, but they are floating within a pool of unsound doctrine. I have read through that treatise closely, and I think there were only two points that I couldn't reprove, or at least not a clear, simple reproof. And I'm nobody! It's just not an honest way to discuss The Truth and The Bible with the rest of the Body. Second, I am not sure that Jesus "fulfilled" the old covenant. Maybe I'm wrong. Would you kindly refresh my memory with the verse that says Jesus "fulfilled" the old covenant? I know the Bible repeatedly says Israel broke it, but "fulfilled" . . . ? Also, while Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant, I'm not sure it says he "fulfilled" the new covenant, either. What are you trying to say there? Third, Hebrews?! Seriously?? You're going to the first of the Epistles to the Hebrews (Jews!) to prove doctrine that you want to apply to the Church of Jew and Gentile? Two VERY different things. See Gal 2:9, wherein Paul and Barnabas shook hands with Peter, James and John that the former would go to the heathen -- us -- while the later would go to the circumcision (Jews). Brother, the new covenant is with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah -- which is not us -- and it is with the group which BROKE THE FIRST COVENANT -- which, again, is not us. (Jer 31:31-34) Paul, the preacher, teacher and apostle to the Gentiles, NEVER told us Gentiles that we are under the new covenant. No one else ever told the Gentiles that we are under the new covenant, either. We -- Jews and Gentiles -- were just given the option to get off the battlefield before the Time of Jacob's trouble, Daniel's 70th Week, the tribulation of Deut 4, the day of the Lord, That Day, etc., and we took it. Amen! That Day has not been canceled, just delayed, until God takes us to our home in heaven and deals with Israel here on Earth again. Not entirely happy with this reply, but I'm at work and it's the best I can do right now. Grace. : )

Just as there are people in the visible Church who appear to be participating in God's Kingdom, but actually serve Man's, so too there are people outside the visible Church who are members of God's Kingdom, even while appearing to be only a part of the world. Only God knows the heart of man. This makes me think of the following: we know that all will be resurrected, no one has a choice in the matter. Some to the resurrection of eternal life, others, to eternal shame. The books shall be opened: "A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened." Daniel 7:10 The Holy Scriptures and the Fathers of the first 1,000 years of the Church, when it was one, make clear that the River of fire will be a warming embrace to those that love God, and will be an everlasting burning of those that hate the Lord. The Fathers of the Church rejected the idea of a created "purgatorial fire" that developed in the West post-schism, as they also rejected punishment by essence in a separate, created fire that developed post-reformation in the west. These judicial conceptions of God distorted God's utter omniscience; it is nothing else than the projection of worldly assessments on theology. It was a return to the pre-Christian process of making God a "Super-man" a la Zeus, or Odin. God is an all consuming fire (Hebrews 11:29), yet, God only loves (1 Jn. 4:16) and that Love will never end (1 Cor. 13:8). The river of fire is precisely this infinite love of God, which will embrace everyone without distinction at the general resurrection. Paradise or hell will be what each of us will experience within this river of the infinite love of God. It will be the way each of us personally accepts God's love. As to how we receive the love of God is purely on our own terms. It depends only on our freedom, our personal free will. Our attitude to God, whether we will be friends or enemies, is something for us to decide, and it will be eternal. God, absolutely respecting our choice, cannot change it. He will never remove our freedom or individual will. Paradise and hell depend upon us. And it is made eternal by our final and irrevocable choice. At the Second Coming, God will not punish in essence, but He will permeate everything with the light of love, which, like a river of fire will proceed from His throne. The books will be opened, namely, everything will be brought to light, and in the fire, all will be revealed. Our hearts will clearly show our intent. What will be hidden within them? Love or hate? If there is love in our hearts, our encounter with the divine river of love will be joy and paradise. If within our heart reigns hate, then when the love of God embraces us as a fiery river, we will be in misery and hell. The fire makes gold shiny and bright, but it burns brushwood (1 Cor. 3:12-15). What will we feel in the fire of divine love? Will we sparkle like gold, or will we be burned? The river of fire is precisely this infinite love of God, which will embrace everyone without distinction. Paradise or hell will be what each of us will experience within this river of the infinite love of God. God's love will never end.

Progressive dispensationalism makes even less sense than Scofield’s version. This pastor seems like a nice man, but his concession that the Kingdom of God is the Kingdom of Heaven totally destroys his argument. There is a reason why Scofield separated the two. This is before we even address the fact that Paul himself said he had preached the Kingdom of God to the gentiles of Ephesus: “And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.” - Acts 20:25-27 Not only does Paul preach “Kingdom Gospel” to gentiles, but he goes even further and includes it in the whole counsel of God. Are we to believe that Paul stands accursed by his own standard put forth in Galatians 1? Or rather, is the Gospel Paul preached the only true gospel (good news) there is - Jesus Christ and His Kingdom? Mid-Acts theology is abject heresy, but at least they have consistently taken their flawed and carnal hermeneutic to its logical conclusion.

I think you're talking more about the difference between classic dispensationalism (Darby/Scofield) and revised dispensationalism (Ryrie). The chief difference between classic and revised dispensationalism is that how they think of the kingdom of heaven/God. Whereas classic dispensationalists maintain there is a distinction, revised does not. This has eschatological ramifications, as Darby/Scofield thought the church is a "heavenly" people, while the Jews are an "earthly" people. My first pastor was a classic dispensationalist, and like many of this variety believed that the church would be in heaven and the Jews would be on earth during a future millennial reign of Christ. I may be mistaken, but I think hyper-dispensationalists (i.e. mid-Acts) and ultra-dispensationalists (i.e. post-Acts, or Acts 28) also maintain the kingdom of heaven/God distinction. Revised dispensationalism, while still seeing a difference between the church and Israel, does not use those distinctions. Other than this difference, they are pretty much the same. As such, some have combined classic and revised dispensationism into a single group which has been called "traditional" dispensationalism, making room for such distinctions. Progressive Dispensationalism likewise agrees with revised dispensationalism, but is set apart in other ways. The key difference between traditional and progressive dispensationalism is how they understand interpretation, the kingdom of God, and the new covenant. From what I've seen, Pastor Wampler is not a Progressive Dispensationalist. He's more in the line of Ryrie as a revised dispensationist, and would be considered a traditional dispensationist.

@@hereticus40 Carnal in the sense that it focuses upon the physical and disregards the spiritual. I have a whole series on this topic at my substack, but this small quote summarizes this criticism: “Examples of the pitfalls of this hermeneutic are provided for us aplenty in Scripture. The Pharisee Nicodemus interpreted Christ’s words literally, failing to understand their spiritual meaning: 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? - The Gospel of John 3:3-4 KJV Nicodemus was hardly the only Judean stuck in this carnal mindset, unable to perceive or discern the wisdom of God. The Apostles are upbraided by Jesus for this very same thing: 5 And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. 8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?… 11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. - The Gospel of Matthew 16:5-8, 11-12 KJV Christ directly links their unbelief with their inability to discern His true intent. That is not say that I think dispensationalists are in a state of unbelief, but rather that no belief or spiritual discernment is required to analyze words in their most literal sense. It is a hermeneutic that is purely carnal and pharisaical in its application and praxis.”

@@PreachingPolitics Thanks, I wasn’t familiar with all of Pastor Wampler’s positions. Progressive dispy’s eschew the kingdom distinction and a lot of what he said seemed to line up with that camp. God bless.

If the shoe fits, then apply this.. but if not then don't worry about it. A lot of you guys are awful hard on schofield, and yes he had some bad problems. However a lot of you guys are in the same position as him.. and all you do is rail on them when you're just as bad. (I'm not talking about brother Tommy.. but there's a lot of people in your camp like this.) Most moderate dispensational independent Baptists will acknowledge that he had his problems... And yes Larkin even had his problems because he believed in the Gap theory and he was a little bit more of a hyper dispensationalist. It doesn't mean they're not right on most of their stuff and that you can't learn a lot from them. A lot of you guys are right on a big majority but wrong as well so you should try to be more like brother Tommy and have a good spirit about it.. instead of foaming at the mouth and railing on everyone saying they're not saved.)

At 1:50 in you mentioned dispensational opponents who misrepresent your position. Per our 3 public discussions can you point to a place where I ever failed to honestly and accurately represent you? Good discussion btw. I enjoyed this one:)
