Just moved into our new place and I noticed a leak and had to stop the dishwasher before going to bed. I’ve been so stressed about it and other things related to the move, so I barely slept all night. In fact, I watched this video at 4:30 am! After watching the video, I opened the dishwasher to look at the gasket, and found a bottom screw sticking out right where the leak was. I screwed it back in and ran it. No more leaks! This literally took five seconds and saved me a few days/weeks worth of headaches waiting for someone else to fix the dishwasher. Thank you thank you thank you! I’m gonna go back to sleep now! Haha

My whirlpool gold series 2013 dishwasher was leaking bottom of door. Leak used to start about 5 to 10 minutes after the cycle used to start. Source of leak turned out to be rubber gasket of heat vent that is on top left corner. It was accessible after removing door cover and opening the vent. Had hard water deposited on gasket. Cleaning with vinegar and giving a nice coat of vaseline before putting all together back resolved the issue.

Hey GREAT video!!!! Our dishwasher was leaking this morning; I suspected that it was the gasket however it still looked in good shape. After cleaning the debris and scum off the rubber, it was still leaking. My wife was looking at new dishwashing machines online. ANYWAY, I watched your video and saw that you recommended inspecting the SCREWS on the sides of the door. The lower screws were loose and sticking out. I used my screwdriver with the appropriate star bit and screwed them down again. NO LEAKING! THANKS! I guess after being used everyday for the past several years the screws got loose. If you think about it thats a pretty sturdy machine since its being used almost every single day.

The corners were my problem. One was loose on my new dishwasher. Pulled the wrinkle out and ooala! No leak! Thank you!!

When replacing the door gasket, it is always good to replace the lower door gasket as well. In fact, if there is a corner leak, with all due respect to your video, the lower door gasket is most likely the cause before the door gasket. There are videos on this but basically open the door, remove the screws holding the front panel, close the door and remove the front panel. Open the door and remove the old gasket, note the groves so you will install the new one correctly, and go ahead and install it. Slide the front panel back in, open the door and put the 4 screws back in. Replacing both will insure a tight seal all around! That's all there is to it!

I had same issues, same Parts shotgun, Ended up finding the lower sprayer bar had split along the sonic weld and was sending water sideways at such pressure to overcome the door gasket/pan lip.

Unusual Cause of Door leak! I chased this door leak problem for a long time. At the end of the cycle, the DW was fully drained but would slowly drip during wash cycle. I inspected for all the usual listed problems. Checked sprayer arms for possible cracks, checked fill valve, replaced main door gasket, bottom door gasket and float; didn't cure the problem. As a last resort, I went under house and found a a drooping ABS plastic drain pipe. The pipe is 2" dia. and had a 2" droop that meant the line would still drain but slowly, thus backing up slightly on the fill and drain cycles. I reset the slope on the ABS drain pipe and for 9 months, no more dripping on floor. I do keep a "Leak Squeek" (from Amazon; no batteries and low profile) alarm on the floor just in case.

If leaking from corners it is the bottom of the door gasket not the side. The bottom gets warn out faster. The bottom dooe gasket is what keeps the wayer inside the tub not the side gaskets

I discovered that there is a part number for the exact whirlpool replacement gasket. Some gaskets that are shipped under different part numbers fit but are not shaped exactly like the original.

I bought and returned 2 door gaskets. The new ones are TOO STIFF and TOO FAT to fit in the groove. HERE IS HOW I FIXED THE SUMBITCH: The old gasket was fine except for the bottom 1-2 inches on both ends. They split and deformed to the point where they no longer sealed. I removed the whole seal, doubled it in half and cut it into TWO equal lengths. CUT OFF the 1-2 inches from the ends that are deformed. Reinstall the seals, but now leave a gap at the TOP where the latch is. Take the deformed pieces you cut off and place them in the groove at the TOP where the latch is. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

So my problem was not the gasket. My dishwasher was leaking from the bottom of the door around the middle. I checked the gasket, arm movement, float switch, water level and screw tightness on the doors but nothing seemed out of order. I removed the lower arm assembly and exposed the mounting plate (6-8 screws in a circle under the arm assembly) and discovered that the screws facing the door were loose. This was allowing water to bypass the lower wash arms and push the water over the lower housing of the door. Pretty simple fix, but just a bear to find.

Door screws tight. But noticed door gasket did not quite reach as far down as it could. As I was wiping it clean with a paper towel, it stretched downward on its own so I encouraged it to go to the very end. Am running another test. This time on the “pots and pans” cycle since that pushes more water into the dishwasher.🙏🏽 Prayer answered with a “Yes”! 😃 Water now stays inside the dishwasher, even when full if the maximum amount of water (regulated as it should be).

Great video! I ran into an issue with the door not latching after installing the new gasket. Make sure you have the gasket pushed in all the way. I also had to ‘lean’ on the door a bit until it finally grabbed and latched closed. I’m guessing the new gasket needs to be worn in a tiny bit before fitting?

Tightened all screws, removed, cleaned and cut door gasket in half. Put good ends in corner of door. Leak resolved, thank you! But while working on it, cleaned out drain hose attached to garbage disposal with spiked snake, rinsed with vinegar, cleaned out debris from sprayers with tweezers, angled dishwasher a little bit towards back too That bit** better work now

Very helpful, thank you! I will order a gasket and give it a try but my question is regarding the door screws. If I tighten them the leaking stops for a while but always comes back. Today I took the screws right out to have a look and they are just screwing into a hole in metal with no nut on the back so they just basically just spin and spin. Is there a way to secure them so they stay tight without a nut?

What happen if the water came out under the washer machine?? Need to replace the whole thing or just parts? Thanks

Thanks for pointing out the screws possibly being lose. I replaced my door seal and it was still leaking and found out it was just two lose screws on the inside of the door not letting it seal properly. 🤦

Also on my whirlpool , the float is in a spot where a dish could hold it from coming up hence making the drain not kick on , I think that is my issue , or one of them. So if you have an intermittent leak check this

Wouldhave like to see a.start and stop close up of each bottom corner. The old gasket had a tag hanging out a bit. When I installed new gasket I still had a leak. Suspect it's coming from here. Hate to cut it too short. Otherwise good video

How long are the gasket ends after trimming? Do the ends wrap a bit across the bottom (1-1/2 to 2") or do you cut it flush?
