I've never seen it done like that, so it was very cool to see. On the tire machine, it puts pressure as close to the bead as possible to break it. I think that helps a lot. Your jack was trying to push the whole sidewall of the tire, if you had a board to focus the pressure a little better it would probably go easier. I can't wait to see the video of your apparatus

Oh yea. A bottle jack or scissor jack. Lol that’s why I say those are better. Actually if I didn’t have the handles on my jack to wrap the straps around their would be nothing keeping the tire from slipping off the jack. Actually hope I never have to use the method again lol. The debeading tool we got is awesome. Still labor, but much better and at 50bucks per wheel for beadlock service. It pays for itself in 6 tire changes

Yea. Also accommodate a rock guard for crawling. I guess technically street legal in some states.

Oh yea. Probably the best method. Might take some wheel damage against rocks on the ground. Sometimes getting back on trail is more important. Definitely the most efficient method though.

Oh totally. Some even stuff them under the vehicle and have a second vehicle drive over them to break the bead. Used the aev wheels just in case cause agreed definitely not about to mark up the Innov8 wheels if I can avoid. But still can be done without damage. Just damn why take that risk lol.

Are they hybrids. If they can be mounted either way they do get dot approval in every state I believe. But if you mount then beadlock Then they are not in some states. Again I don’t know if they offer hybrids or not but that loophole does exist for other variants.

Not certain if that’s true. The aev wheels and rrw wheels are street legal and can be mounted normal or beadlocks. That doesn’t mean that in beadlock form they are dot approved. Also not certain what each state does but I’m sure manufacturers have that figured out. Bottom line any standard tire shop you go to won’t mount them for you. Regardless off a claim that they are dot approved. Bead locks are beadlocks and they won’t want the liability. So your probably right since I would look for that loophole as a manufacturer as well. But that doesn’t mean the statement is wrong that you won’t get service because beadlocks are not dot approved

420 motors go to the AEV website, those AEV wheels are DOT approved.

Yea cause they can be mounted standard. Take those to get mounted as beadlocks and you will find that tire shops won’t care. They will refuse to take the liability of beadlocks. Didn’t speak of maintenance on this video cause got a broader one coming up. But no shop will guarantee any work that needs that much maintenance. If the owner fails to check torque on bolts and has a failure on the highway, they want nothing to do with that action. Rrw wheels are similar to aev wheels. I can get them mounted standard at wall mart if I like. But not mounted as beadlocks. So yea. They are dot approved but they aren’t the only ones. Do more research and you will see, all that advertise beadlock dot wheels are hybrids and still include the disclaimer that mounted as beadlocks is for offroad use. Lmao. Hell yea man. And naw we agree your correct. Wish I could have worded that better just for the extra consumer tip. Just making sure someone didn’t try to mount beadlocks without the knowledge that service for them will be tricky. Maybe I shouldn’t have made the statement as absolute as I did, not just for accuracy but to help sell the shown sets also. Legal loop hole of hybrids are a selling point and wish I would have mentioned it. That being said. Someone buying them might still have to watch the video one day when they are stuck with no service lol
