Some of the other tire sizes I’ve done go on very easy. But then some can be an absolute pain.

I like the video and love the 42s, what engine are you running and what axles if you dont mind sharing? Im running 37 Cooper STT pros on Slabs, stock 3.6, dynatrac pr44 front and stock rear housing with tenfactory 35 splines. SO far so good but man I like the 42s. Thanks for sharing.
@Ohio_offroad_adventures3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! And we still have the stock 3.6 with a Dana 60 out of a 2006 Ford superduty and a 14bolt out of a 2004 Chevy 2500. And it sound like you have a very solid build!

I'm running 39" Krawler Red Labels on my CJ with Walker Evans beadlocks. I love my Red Labels. But, they absolutely suck in the snow and don't do well in the mud. But, they're like cheating on rocks, which is my passion. (Rocks, not cheating) I've also seen the MTR's do well in the rocks and are far superior than the Reds in snow and mud. I think they are the best all around tire.

I really like the MTRs so I keep buying them. They have done really well for me. But I’m definitely getting to itch to try something different out. And I also love red labels. If I had a 20” wheel and the Jeep never drove on the road I would probably pick those up. (If you can get your hands on them)

What did you use to paint the wheels? They came out nice!
@Ohio_offroad_adventures10 ай бұрын
Thanks! And it was just rustoleum rattle can paint. Then we used a couple coats of their clean too.

Enjoying the content!! Whats the color and paint you ended up spraying those rims. Been looking for a grey myself.

Thanks for watching. And we just used rustoleum Dark Grey rattle can paint to do it. Couple years later they are still holding up well.

Where did you get these ? I cant find MTRs anywhere...sais they are discontinued? I need some new 40-42"
@Ohio_offroad_adventures6 ай бұрын
Ahhh yeah they stopped making them over a year ago. The only way to get them now is getting a used set. I’m pretty bummed about it, I really liked those.
@tjrubi74636 ай бұрын
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures hi thanks for the reply. Also my tire of choice lol...i heard they are making a new model...but nothings out as if yet? I just picked up a set of baja bosses which are nice but seem to run a tad smaller than the 40mtrs... I may step it up to 42s now...but slim choices on tires these days for sure.
@Ohio_offroad_adventures6 ай бұрын
@@tjrubi7463 yeah nothing out from them yet. And Goodyear bought Mickey Thompson around the same time the stopped making the MTRs so I’m assuming they are just gonna use the mickeys as their Offroad brand, especially the bigger tires. I’ve always been a fan of the Baja boss but I’m just waiting for them to release the 42 and 44” sizes in those. Hopefully soon!
@tjrubi74636 ай бұрын
@@Ohio_offroad_adventures MTR was the goods. Cant wait for the baja boss 42

How much does NTB charge to switch these tires...
@Ohio_offroad_adventures3 жыл бұрын
Hahahaha. They won’t even touch them. Most shops don’t have a machine big enough to get these on. (Unless semi’s tires). And then you mention they are a beadlock wheel and they stay clear of them. I’ve heard Offroad shops charging people 100$ or more a tire to mount them.
@manny_panties Жыл бұрын
whats the bag at 12 minutes that you throw in the tire for?
@Ohio_offroad_adventures Жыл бұрын
They are balancing beads. They take the place of the lead weights that are on the wheels to balance the tire.
