This is a very late request/idea but I've been coming back to your Jimmel contents and I sooo miss them huhuu. I wonder if you can do a story for them where Melody is a mermaid and she shows Jim the underwater world (almost like a reverse story for My Little Mermaid) because I feel like Melody's mermaid form isn't utilized enough. Anyway, loved this video and always will (probs why I keep coming back hehe).

My goodness, you just made my day! Thank you so much! I know right? Aren't they the cutest? They'd get on the most amazing shenanigans as adventurers together! Sinbad was an easy pick, but I really struggled with choosing the right character for older!Melody. At first, I'd thought about black-haired Ariel (an old favourite of mine!), but pushed her aside because she looked a bit too young next to Sinbad. Plus, it felt a bit cliché. Then, I turned to Belle... but then changed my mind once again (her style didn't quite fit either with Sinbad and I couldn't find the right clips with her). But as soon as I thought about Jane... BAM. I knew she was perfect! Thank you again for this lovely comment, it warmed my heart!

Belle would be nice for the adult version of Melody, it's bad that you had troubles with the clips. It's not that I had trouble with the clips per se, I just couldn't find one that fit. Belle looking down, holding some kind of rope (or something that can be edited as a rope)? Nope, nowhere to be found! Yeah, I could totally see Jim and Belle as friends. Or as an older sister and younger brother; they look alike well enough! Your feedback on my other videos would be really appreciated! For 2D animation, I only have another one (using Belle, funnily enough, with Esmeralda!), but I have others using 3D animation (Brave, Tangled, Frozen, How to train your dragon)... I'll keep looking forward to your comments, they're well-thought out and really sweet!

Saiyagurl Thank you! I do wonder why no one thought of making up that scene (with Jim coming “down to Earth” haha) first? It came to me so easily and adds a touch of steampunk to The Little Mermaid’s universe! Thank you! I had a lot of fun with these manips. Fun fact: the manip with Jim in his suit isn’t the finished product, I just forgot to add the final version (with his rat’s tail!). Oops! But I’m glad it turned out okay anyway!

There, he becomes best friend with the kingdom's princess, Melody. They meet in secret, mostly. Her parents are pushing her to court a prince, though. At her own birthday party, Melody is bullied because of Jim's status as a kitchen boy. Tired of the pressure, Jim and Melody run away to become pirates. Years later, they still keep in touch with their mothers, Queen Ariel and Sarah, through letters telling them all about their adventures (but keeping the dangerous parts to themselves!) That's what I got. I'd love for someone to write a fic about this someday. It would be lovely! :D

It's about Jim, a boy who leaves his home planet with his mother Sarah in search of a better life, who meets Melody, Princess of the Kingdom Jim immigrated to. They become best friends and, after Melody's mother Ariel tries to match her with a local Prince, they run away together to become pirates! Years later, they still keep in touch with their respective mothers through sporadic letters. That's what I got! :)

Hi! Actually, both Ariel and Jim’s mother know their children work as pirates as adults after running away. They’re just keeping that a secret! And thank you, I’m glad you liked Jane as adult Melody. Ariel looked too young next to Sinbad, I’m happy I chose her :)

@@boba_fish3746 Melody is twelve. Jim might be fourteen? Something like that. In my head, she reunited with her parents through letters she kept sending them, telling them about her adventures. She probably goes back and forth between the castle and her pirate adventures!
