Disney Cruise Vlog Day #5 :: Exploring BEAUTIFUL St. Thomas

Күн бұрынDay 5 of our cruise on the Disney Fantasy brought us to the AMAZING island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands! This is one of the most naturally beautiful places we've ever visited!
We do some shopping and grab a quick lunch before Adam takes the Skyride to Paradise Point to see the spectacular views, meets a talented local artist, and then explores the Pirates Treasure Museum before heading back to the ship.
For dinner we tried the table service meal at Cabanas and then watched the transformation as the ship gets ready for Star Wars Day at Sea tomorrow!
This was SUCH an amazing day!

This makes me really want to go to St Thomas. That Jack Sparrow was AWESOME, had the mannerisms and accents down. and VIBE.... now I know why my teens spent so much time there on the Dream on the last trip. And i am craving creme brule now!

Unbelievable view from the skyride. Holy cow. Totally agree, our best cruise experiences were when we booked locals as our guides and when we got out of the port area. Of all the DCL vlogs I've ever watched, I've never seen a single person do Cabana's for dinner. This is why you two are the best DCL content on KZfaq, no contest.

We actually were surprised that we couldn’t find more about Cabanas dinner as well! It seems like such a good option for people who want table service, but don’t want to be tied to the dining times

LeggLife I started a new job last year and had to get licensed. This week I’ve finally been able to start taking calls (Loan Officer). So, I’ve been nervous as all heck. Your videos have helped to slow my heart rate; I watch them every lunch break!

OMG!! I love Descendants. LoL my girls got into those movies last summer, and for Christmas we got them all 3 movies. I wasn't a fan at first, but now I have favorite characters,and love the song's. Currently reading Isle of the lost with my girls 4 and 8 years old😍❤ "When I say V you say K! V , K! V, K!"

When you toured the Vibe I hope you also got to see their private pool in the bow of the ship. That Jack Sparrow was really good! Looks like you had a good time !

The Vibe pool was closed during the open house so we didn’t get to see it up close, but we did see it from one of the upper decks.

LeggLife that’s good. They certainly have a nice area for the teens! I was surprised about the vibration issue in Cabanas. I wonder if it was related to the mechanical problem they were having with the engines?

I’ve read several comments regarding vibration issues at the rear of the Fantasy ship. We’ll be on the Fantasy in April and we’ll get to see first hand how that feels, especially I’m comparison to the Dream, which has no reputation for vibrations.

Y'all don't even know the range of emotions each time you post a vlog: being so excited that there is a new one to being so sad after watching it knowing I have to wait for the next one. Love your videos! Our whole family is going on our 1st Disney cruise next January! We can't wait!

We took the tram lift up the mountain when we visited St. Thomas. Beautiful place to visit. Meeting "Jack Sparrow" was a bonus! You are so sweet to acknowledge the girls and their ears to match Sherri's. Very special!🤩

We swam with the dolphins at Coral World was awesome! Also saw Bluebeard's castle, the 3 queens, 99 steps, paradise point, pirate museum, and had coffee at the Bad Ass Coffee store.

Stumbled upon you guys a little while back doing research for another trip, and I just want to say you guys are great! Awesome stories, awesome commentary, very insightful. There are a TON of people who vlog their trips and most of them are either boring or annoying. Next time you're in the VI make sure you get to St. John, that place is unbelievable. Keep traveling and keep sharing your story and keep up the great work!

We took our 17 year old twin boys on the Western Caribbean 7 day cruise for their Senior Trip last September. We COULD NOT get them out of Vibe! We saw them at dinner and at a few shows. They had so much fun doing the flash mob and they made a pirate/zombie movie that was AMAZING!!!

Hi guys- My 3 yr old and I came across your vlog a few weeks ago while looking more into Disney cruising. He has his heart set on a Halloween on the high seas cruise next year. We have watched so many of your videos. He enjoys the tours and when you show the characters. I told him of your current cruise and he has watched every day so far. We are doing the Gondola tour as well! We absolutely love St. Thomas and looking forward to it. That rum cake is the best and so delicious. We have eaten in Cabanas at dinner time before and it wasn't vibrating like that. Maybe it's because of the technical issues that it is having? I am so happy that y'all enjoy it there. Y'all would love St. Croix as well. Thank y'all for sharing your day with us. We absolutely love watching y'all and so does Anna Beth (St. Bernard)! We are so excited for SWDAS! So we went on the Disney Fantasy for our honey moon, also going to St. Thomas. It was SO HOT, it was well over 100°F. We walked around for like 2 hours then went back to the ship it was just so hot. Then we went to take a nap. And people are all like "yeah, you took a 'nap' wink wink." No, we seriously just fell asleep for like 4 hours. And I feel Sherri, I always have at least 2 books with me when I travel. Because what if I finish one?! Sherri, did you know you can get free ebooks and audiobooks through your library? And I dont mean just going to your library, theres free apps that you can sign in through with your library card and rent ebooks and audiobooks.

Also, the Disney Fantasy has a vibration issue when its going full speed. You can definitely feel it when the ship is going from St Thomas to Castaway on every cruise. You’re not alone. Definitely recommend cruising with Norwegian. We have only sailed with NCL and love it. Nice and casual and the ships and service are outstanding.

I visited St Thomas back in May 2019 with Disney Cruise on the Fantasy and I gotta say St Thomas is one of my favorite ports. It’s such a beautiful port with so much to see and do. I love the fact that you guys explored and got off the ship! 💕

I actually went on the Norweigian Encore last month to St. Thomas and I completely agree, it is so beautiful! That was my first cruise ever and it was amazing, I suggest NCL especially the Encore ship! Great video! I'm hoping to get on a Disney Cruise one day soon!

Another great vlog!!!!!!! St. Thomas is an amazing island. When we bring my daughters service dog on a cruise, we ask that the "potty box" be put on our balcony. Disney always does it for us. It's a shame you didn't make it to Mountain Top. That's where you get the best views. Can't wait to be there in about 80 days.

Y’all lunch choices at port made me giggle because, before our dietary restrictions my husband & I would have ordered the same thing. I LOVE Cuban sandwiches (but I can’t have gluten and it’s sad), and my hubby would have totally ordered the bacon ranch wrap (but he can’t have dairy). 🤣

What ship will you be cruising on? We’ve heard from multiple people that the vibration issue may be specific to the Disney Fantasy. So, maybe keep that in mind. We enjoyed the rest of the dinner there for sure!

Phone carriers like AT&T and Verizon offer plans that work in Puerto Rico and in the US Virgin Islands. You should always call before you're traveling to double check but when I was in Puerto Rico I was able to use my cell Phone like if I was back in Phoenix.

It's actually not a buffet at Cabanas at night, it's a normal table service where you order off of the menu.

Yall make the best and most informative Disney cruise vlogs! St Thomas is so beautiful! I loved that yall showed us what having dinner at Cabanas is like. My husband said he definitely wants to try that next time. He thought the MDRs were ok on the Dream, but hes a very private type person. So he didn't really like being fussed over by the servers, or the constant attention, or even having to share a table at dinner. Sounds like Cabanas would be right up his alley. Just curious, but what is in your ear at 15:28?

Great Vlog. I have done the Marvel day at see you can see the battle on my channel. but I cant wait to book one with a Start Wars DAY!!!! was Captain Jack asking for money or did he work there? @@LeggLife I wish! They're usually at capacity in the summer months, so they don't really need to put in the effort. The first time we sailed with our son, he was two, so we could wait until September and book the Halloween cruise. Now that he's older, we're sort of locked into summers. But I love this peak into this one!

Wow! St. Thomas looks so beautiful ❤ my Uncle and some family lived there for several years. They ran a restaurant there. Unfortunately, I never got to visit. I wonder if the vibrations at the Cabana restaurant had something to do with the mechanical problems the ship is having? Thanks for the beautiful vlog. Gene Amigh There’s a bunch of places to get jewelry on the ship! White Caps has jewelry, and there’s a Bvlgari on board, as well as a Tiffany’s!

i liked how you willed and dilled with that guy. . my wife did the same thing in Mexico on a dress. and a tree ornament. i i did that on sunglasses.

We've never done dinner in Cabanas before, but it looks like they do a good job. I think I'd stick with my rotational dining though. I love the connection with the wait staff :)

Definitely something to experience for yourselves! I had no idea that Captain Jack was there until he walked up. I bet there were probably 2 or 3 more minutes that he interacted with me that didn't get included in the vlog. Super fun experience for sure!

Hello! I was really surprised how much bigger the Norwegian cruise ship was than the Disney ship.

Yes, the Disney Ships are not huge, especially in the age of these super-sized cruise ships.

Fun update! Re Cabanas, I suspect the vibration isn't as big of a deal on the other ships. The Fantasy had that known vibration issue in the aft and at the end of January she was having mechanical difficulties. We love staying aft, but we won't do it on the Fantasy because the vibrations are so bad. If you liked the dining experience, I'd say try again on another ship.

St. Thomas looks beautiful! I've never had any desire to go there (not a desire to NOT go, just never gave it thought I guess), but it looks like a beautiful and fun place to explore. The gondola ride up the hill side looks great. Was it a standing gondola? It looked narrow, but maybe that was just the camera angle. Great video!

My dad used to work on a ship in Anchorage. Alaska Ocean Sea Food. I have always wanted to visit Alaska and everyone tells me come in the fall time because of the colors

We took our first cruise on the dream in January and we got to see the Oceaneers area since its the age range for our daughter. My biggest regret is not visiting edge and vibe. I wanted to play some guitar hero during their open house.
