i live in California and i have convinced all my family to do exactly that. F Disney. Epic universe would be a great investment for any investor looking to make a long term and quick buck. putting your money in Disney stock is just throwing money away.

Many years ago I met a really sour soul who was traveling across the nation trying to get everyone to go woke before it was a thing. He was staying in our dorm for the summer, and he was totally fixated on Disney, and would rail against them every evening. I was like, dude, it's a private co. for kids, what is your problem? Now I am seeing the fruits of that nut!🎯they, like academia, etc., have been targeted for years by nasty cultural marxists! Now they run the damn show!

People can say get woke go broke all they want but reality is that's not always a true fact how many people that rely on that way too much and may get disappointed in the future ask for Disney the only thing they need to be worried about is fixing their parts I don't think they need to keep listening to KZfaqrs that keeps complaining about woke 24/7 Disney needs to do is just fix their Parks plain and simple

To course correct, Disney needs to get rid of Iger completely and then start the purge of his Acolyes, from the top down and have a CEO who doesn't care about the woke nonsance and would rather see the company make money

And don’t forget, a CEO who respects all of Disney’s work, including Song of the South, and listens to real customers. Maybe to bring back original rides if he must to draw the customers (it can be done cause we seen it happen occasionally).

@@Golfer5824 a little more complicated as we own DVC which we have always enjoyed. Also own stock. Started buying at $26. I hear Universal has a stand alone Volcano Bay AP. Very tempting. That water park is so much fun.

I don't think the old IP is necessarily a bad thing or a drag -- let me expand your first point, when it comes to the IP: a. They are in pretty complete denial of how unpopular the newer IP is, nor the reasons why...because they're too enamored with it, because it caters so well to the internal preferences & biases and there is an internal refusal to even consider that the audience they're chasing is NOT a general audiences anymore, but a very niche audience that is not profitable (especially if you're a megacorp). b. They actively hate a lot of the older IP, leading to this part of their older IPs being neglected at best, with some of this hate being likely BECAUSE it's doing better than the newer IP c. What parts of the older IP is not neglected or actively targeted for destruction (for daring be more popular than their newer IP) does get new material...but because of (a), this just infects it with the same stink that the newer IP has It'd likely also help if they kept up on the overall maintenance -- that's why the ride problems, and part of why Universal's taking away their customers. You have to deliver an experience in line with your ticket prices. (And the niche audience in this case matters because it's one known to be toxic, hostile to anybody outside of their clique, and...when they're not too broke to buy the merch, they still prefer to buy it from each other. So, basically, not profitable enough to cater to & liable to cost you the people who will spend the money. You may in fact be better off just going "...They like that ship and don't care about anything else? Okay. SINK IT.")

He controls the board and the company, he may not be offically the chair of the board but I wouldn't be surprised if at meetings, he sat at the top of the table and controls the board regardless!

@WaltRight There would still be inherent value in IP so there will always be a profitable price. Say the price crashes to $20 a share, you don’t think Comcast would try a takeover for the rights to Marvel, LucasFilm, and Pixar IP?

@@karstenkrauss7007 Disney has had surveys about a lot of things, it's another reason to hate them at them moment, because they do the opposite of what the guests overwhelmingly ask for in the surveys. I just read about one where there were three choices for something and like 80 percent wanted one, 20 percent wanted another , and Disney went with the choice no one picked! It's a disdain for it's own customer base like no other!

I've observed Disney is seemingly trying to license to as many companies as possible. Grocery products seem to me to be the most visible. Merch and toys I've observed are in the bargain isles at Walmart in quantity after their prime shelf time expires and replaced with something else. Newer Barbie product for example.

By the way, we typically spend around 10k a year at Disney(going at least yearly for the past 30 years)and we have no plans to go back. All my family members did not renew their AP’s. Cancelled Disney+. As of a few months ago we were planning on going for a week in April as a last experience at Fort Wilderness(we’ve never done the RV thing and wanted to check it off the bucket list)but now we’ve cancelled all of that. It’s sad but we’ll just start going to Dollywood until American Heartland opens.
