Hi! Nice to see you used a few of my maps. I personally don't even remember making half of those maps! I'm just a little bit disappointed that the animated Iago boss map wasn't used, but instead the static version. I spent quite some time making sure the animation looped properly in the GIF (because the gears animation and the magic cloud animation had different cycle lengths). But no worries! :)

The jurassic park game on sega genesis would be awesome in this format if you ever get a chance to do it.

8-bit games usually don't have any parallax effects, and thus are easier to make maps and easier to overlay on top of the maps. However, most 16-bit games have multiple layers of background (and sometimes foreground), making it harder to let everything be correctly aligned and looking good. I believe the author of the video had disabled the rendering of background layers to try to solve this issue. It led to a many graphical glitches on enemies and other sprites, but it was certainly less distracting than the parallax. @NESAtlas can confirm if that was the case.

Yeah, making the video without parallax is much easier for me, but sometimes I will put in the extra effort to have all layers animated too.

what a unique run of a classic and built hard to begin with to somehow force people to not just rent it in a weekend unlike the snes version... and im ok with the escape just being the 1 screen as im sure it would just be the location of the rock and waves...

You may be able to use a cheat in games to remove the images like the lives, hp, etc. The loading screen in the games is annoying at times. The racing part you could have had the map but i assume no one mapped it which is why you didnt.

Yeah there was no map for the rug ride stage. I could have at least done the parallax backgrounds, but since this playthrough didn't even complete the stage I decided to skip it as well.

@@NESAtlas The rug stage moves so fast (it speeds up a lot later) that a map of that stage would be incredibly long. Now I wonder how long it would be, and how feasible it would be. Would such image crash applications? 🤔

I am sure the map would be very long. I have successfully used really large maps before like the Turbo Tunnel stage in Battletoads. If it is too large for After Effects, then I can easily break it up into smaller chunks to get it working. I think the Turbo Tunnel maps were already broken up into a few sections probably because it would crash applications 😅

@@NESAtlas Just to let you know I've created a map for the Rug Ride. It's around 85K wide. (I had posted about it here, but KZfaq seemed to have eaten my comment.)

Wow, I just checked it out on VGMaps and I am impressed you made it so quickly! Also a bit surprised you got it working in a single image too, but the split version is nice to have as well. Good job!!!

If you're trying to disrespect Tommy Tallarico, it'd be better to keep his name attached to the anemic arrangements of other people's catchy melodies.
