Rygar was awesome. As far as I'm concerned Rygar, Zelda II and Kid Icarus had a Medieval fantasy feel that still left you guess. They weren't so complicated where they answered all the questions you might have had in the back of your mind. Like a unresolved story they left you with your own added imaginations. Ghost and Goblins kinda too. And if you want to go back few more years Atari's game Adventure as well. Great video Post 📫 thanks😼

How did you decide which seconds to use for each playthrough? Was it random in most cases?

We have a tracking sheet with several data points for each submission including Game Title, Player Name, Duration, etc. This video was generated with a few scripts built from that data. The time chosen for those 2 seconds of each clip came from a simple formula (Duration / 2) to get footage from the halfway point. The challenge in creating this compilation came from developing a workflow to transcode each clip into a common format that allowed combining all of them together without issues. Since every player who participated has their own individual streaming settings (not to mention different VOD locations like Twitch Clips, Twitch Highlights, KZfaq Videos), things like video size, frame rates, and sample rates all had to be standardized. I also normalized audio levels and burned in text overlays somewhere in the middle of this workflow. Once all of that was figured out, I had a fully automated process from start to finish! I just waited for the event to end, then ran the scripts and I was done. The only video editing I did was for the intro/outro

This is by far the most interesting level in Metal Storm. I wonder if the majority of the games hard drive and resources were devoted to this level? Rockman never tried this in any robot master stage.

856 games hmmm They have a "Nintendo Screen Saver" which you can put labout 16 maybe games playing at the same time. in a way / video/ yet when you click on a game you play at that spot. now no need to pay but a bigger screen and more windows to have 64 games on screen playing form sart to finish would be interesting. or to have a sample like that what you had. So your 4 second video of each game on screen to have 54 games to be split at 4 segments can show it all within 16 seconds. :) Most would not see that but thanks for the achieve. Also VGmaps has so many maps i tried to excel spread sheet to see how many pixels big the one category of maps was which was bigger than Manhattan. (I forgot which one now) I didn't complete it and gave up a few years ago since the site is a bit messy in its order to extract info as easy. I saw no gain to do it so I didnt bother. But in short its too big to see it all in its proper resolution.

Now that you have software that makes these sort of videos easier for you, do you think you'll do any other Metroid Atlas Videos? Any of the 2D ones would be fantastic to see. Any Metroidvanias in general, really!
@NESAtlas16 күн бұрын
Yes! I want to do a few Metroid games including a new run of the original since this video has kind of terrible quality 😅
@Gebohq16 күн бұрын
@@NESAtlas Wooooo!!!! If you redo the original, a 100% run might be nice to show off more of the game and its map. :) It also won't "invalidate" this video!

So the level just loops infinitely vertically? There’s no top or bottom of the level?

That is correct!

@@NESAtlasThis level really gives the illusion of a massive room. Something magical about it. Like, is their areas I’m missing? Even Sonic doesn’t have anything on this.

oddly not as enjoyable when people play it like its not as intended and impossible for others to play it like that which makes it seems i am watching one big glitch. Sure some say its cool that they can do it but not cool to actually dedicate hours to learn to do that and after a while forget it. Well at least it was not the other speed run to beat it under 1 min with a glitch. Just an opinion.

A great game from my childhood. I have replayed it several times on hard mode and when I tried the jump hacks (Ripley jumps higher) in stages 6 and 11, there are certain areas where there are hidden aliens that don't appear in the atlas.
