Welcome back to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at Walt Disney World! The resort reopened to all guestson August 26, 2021, and we stayed in one of the newly-remodeled rooms in Jambo House themed to “The Lion King.” See what this savannah view is all about!

I am totally shocked at how much I like this remodel - I was afraid the Animal Kingdom ones would lose the character. These rooms are so unique, and they kept so much of the fun detail. Great Review -- yet again, I love these so much.

I too love this resort Tom. You’re spot on, it’s wonderfully immersive. I am a DVC member since ‘95 and I’m grateful I have stayed there. It was an incredible different experience every time. If you’ve never been and it’s a choice, absolutely stay here.

Husband & I are going to be staying here (savannah view & all!) for our 10th anniversary in early December - between this, Galaxy's Edge, & the 50th WDW celebration, we can't wait! :-D Thank you so much for posting this!

Love the thumbnail where you added the giraffe head right by the balcony! XD This is a nice update. We'll be staying in Jambo House villas, but I'm assuming the updates still apply there as well.

They seem to be taking out the tub/shower combos in the remodels replacing them with just the shower pans. This typically doesn't matter unless you have little children who need to take baths as showers make it harder to bathe babies and they don't enjoy water in their faces!

Or if your an amputee who enjoys a hot bath after a long day in the park.🦵 That's the one thing I don't like about these remodels.

We are staying at Animal Kingdom first of January so it was great to see what the room looks like, I am disappointed there isn’t a comfy chair to sit in while in the room, just the dining looking chair.

What’s the biggest and most affordable rooms? I heard there were some older rooms that had like a kitchen in it due to their old design

Check online for rack room rates. For Savannah view you are looking at least 700 a night. But rates vary depending on discounts and if you get dvc rental

I’m going in 3 weeks and am paying about $500 a night with tax for a savannah view king bed, but other weeks we’re more expensive

It just dawned on me that the reason they keep putting beverage coolers in the rooms instead of a real mini fridge is because they don't want you to actually be able to keep food at a safe temperature. If you can't keep food cold, you have to buy it from them.

I like the remodel- feels lighter. I like the shower better then a tub- safer for us “older” folk.

I can understand staying here for a resort day or if you are local on a staycation but otherwise... its too far from everything. You can't walk anywhere, not even to its companion park. And you're stuck with busses. Boardwalk area is much better for visiting parks.

What the hell? Do we have to step inside a Disney movie poster every time they remodel a room? Whose ideas are these? Contemporary is Incredibles. Polynesian is Moana. Now Animal Kingdom is Lion King?? Stop already. There are adults in these rooms and unless they like wearing footie pajamas with cartoon movies characters on them to bed then most adults are not going to want to be immersed in movie themes. This is NUTS. Can’t anyone see this?

@@vjbhatia77 When I go to Disney I don’t need to wake up staring Simba in the face to enjoy proper theming. I’m not 12 anymore. Sounds like you are. Maybe even 10 at best.
