@bulletfreak You're wrong in so many levels, but I'll just stick to the most basic one. If capitalism is causing a stagnation, and it doesn't lead to less invention and innovation, then why are all the inventions coming from the capitalist nations, and any country with a market economy that's tinged with socialism or communism elements invents very little? The answer is because it goes against human nature. People don't work for free. People aren't going to invent something if they aren't going to get something back. If every country was only able to work using the technology it made, instead of trading wither other countries, there would only be at most 5 countries still operating at a comparable level to our current technology. And each one of those would have a free market system. All the others would still be stuck in the stone ages.
@theleftandtheextremerighta568
@theleftandtheextremerighta568 5 жыл бұрын
@bulletfreak that's not at all how capitalism works. Capitalist countries do not need third world countries. Also, if capitalism is regressive, how come every country with a capitalist system becomes richer overall and the economy increases and countries with communist system go and become third world countries? Look at Cuba, was once one of the richest nations in the West during its capitalist era, became communist and stagnation came faster than a bullet. Just so you know, capitalism works so that the workers get the money, if you don't work, you're not getting paid, and the more you work, the more likely you are to become the boss because you become richer and richer, which is why you never work for someone poorer then you, meanwhile in communist systems, you work as hard as you possibly can so that the government redistributes what you have rightfully earned and take for itself. Who do you think has a higher chance of success? A man who works and gets to keep their money? Or a man who works but the government has access to all his belongings and money and can take it whenever it wants?

Whether you or not find this episode very simplistic in describing several economic systems and principles including capitalism, type of currencies and inflation, you have to admit this epsiode was quite ingenious and well-written. I can see the correlation with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and the decentralization of currency away from major banks and institutions as the kids have created for themselves. This episode was brilliantly made for kids because it's entertaining and explains many economic principles cleverly and in practical sense. The recess writers couldn't have done this better.

The difference is in a free enterprise the spending is what dictates what is valuable, this is not what was happening in this episode, this was the government (TJ) hording all the currency. This episode shows what communism is. When everyone gets the bare minimum, yet the government "TJ" owns 4 out of every 5 stickers. It takes a reform (the change of stickers) to start everything anew.

I would love to see an alternate ending that had TJ at the top floor of Old Rusty. There he stands watching a mass of the kids angrily approaching, bearing rocks, sticks, dodge balls, tether balls and baseball bats. TJ then grabs a cap gun revolver ready to defend his empire. He goes to the table near him and takes sip of chocolate milk and a bite off of a half-eaten Winger Dinger. TJ exchanges gun fire with the kids below as they continue to invade Old Rusty. TJ shooting his cap gun like a fiend as the camera zooms on his trigger finger depressing the trigger in slow motion. One by one picking off kids as they draw closer. TJ hurls a barrage of insults to the kids. The kids manage to hurl dirt clods in unison while TJ takes the damage. The camera has a wide shot of TJ’s back. Suddenly, Randall appears. Slowly stalking TJ from behind. A stoic look is plastered on Randalls face. He’s carrying a cap gun shotgun. The camera then faces the kids at the bottom of Old Rusty as they stop their assault of dirt clods on TJ. Randall plants his feet, lines up the shotgun to TJs back and BOOM. TJ falls to the bottom of Old Rusty landing on the inflatable swimming pool. TJs lifeless body, face down, floating.

Actually it goes both ways it shows you benefit-TJ being a nobody can become owner of the playground and Menlow the richest can go down despite having initially having a bulk supply gifted to him by his uncle.Also both of them at some point possess more cards than King Bob the monarch of 3rd street. Loss-Someone in TJs position can abuse his power to the point of ridiculousness and make everyone’s life difficult.

@kevin willems which explains why people go into politics. Exploiting workers in what ways? If a worker is not paid enough at one job, generally speaking, there is another job that will pay more for the same craft. However, depending on the business, a worker is paid based on a number of factors such as availability of funds (sometimes, employers don't have the income to be paying their employees in order for the business to stay afloat)
@tsipher
@tsipher 5 жыл бұрын
@kevin willems businesses don't start out at the top though, they don't start as a monopoly or have full control over whatever it is they sell. If a business decided to pay their employees poorly or not enough, it makes sense for those who are employed to seek out work elsewhere. If you don't have the training, experience, or knowledge for the type of work that will pay you what you are worth, then is it the fault of businesses that you don't?
@tsipher
@tsipher 5 жыл бұрын
@kevin willems also, Government isn't another can of worms because it operates the same exact way. It decides on it's on paycheck. If you have a problem with people making more than $100K a year, you should have an even deeper issue with representatives that make $172K a year starting out.

A subtle lesson in authoritarian control of the economy. When the government controls the means of production and distribution, the masses are dispossessed. However, TJ displays the power of free market exchange among cooperating individuals as the antidote to centralized control.

TJ is literally a crony capitalist in this episode. He works his way up until he is able to "privatize" everything on the playground, and hoards so many stickers that no one can afford anything. Idk how you could take a pro-capitalist message out of this, lol. The only way they can prevent TJ from falling into the same greedy cycle again is to make him sign a contract that he won't, i.e. "regulating" him.
