This is not a anime. An anime is a JAPANESE cartoon they are only made in Japan they use Japanese manga which is a comic book made in Japan but you read it from right to left instead of left to right like normal comics so they are not the same as western cartoons/comics.

She only took him back because of his experience. And he went back to her out of habit. A person who really wanted to help a person would not have pushed them back into the life. But, help them move on. She even got herself a new snitch. I don't know if she actually liked him or if she just valued his experience.

I think it was more of a "We don't want to have to keep track of continuity, so every episode has to end with everything back to normal" rather than a "we actually think Randall would be better off going back to Finster" or "Let's teach kids to go back to their ex's instead of moving on."

This is just a "Grass is greener" story. Randall thought he would be happier being friends with the kids, but he didn't want to lose his relationship with Finster. In the end, he chose Finster over the kids. And TJ understood.
