A lightsaber whip looks even more dangerous than a standard lightsaber to a novice. While just practicing, one could whip one's own head off by accident. What an impractical weapon. Hahaha! ;)

Yeah. The only thing that makes sense. is the whip has to be force controlled. So it drains the user faster. It's dumb in so many ways. The only thing worse is the helicopter junk.

I thought the cross guard was also a poor decision but at least it could be argued but a whip takes the cake for dumb ideas. Even if it's being controlled by the force it would just tire out the user or we get a Frieza situation where you get distracted and it kills you.

The whip itself was introduced in the EU was before Disney took over. What baffles me is, the whip was always in use by darkside users, being unpredictable and even more dangerous to use thatn a lightsaber fits the dark side so much more.

The showrunner looks like my grandma with those stupid glasses and probably knows the same amount about Star Wars. If you want to see a good "twin twist" movie check out The Crimson Rivers with Jean Reno. Very good detective thriller.

The only way to salvage that lightsaber whip is for a Jedi to whip it (Whip it good) and show off his lightwhip skills while an antagonist simply blasts him and burns him alive (like Indiana Jones shooting the Arab henchman wielding a scimitar in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'). ;)

One of the advantages to a whip is being able to use your own body for tension and slack, like being able to wrap it around your body or arms and then unwind it to keep its momentum going. A lightsaber whip loses half its functionality. They're just using it to jangle more keys.
