Dining review for our Walt Disney World Holiday trip! We had a great dining experience on this trip and really enjoyed the places that we went to on this trip! We also tried the Disney Dining Plan for the FIRST time on this trip! And I talk a little bit about how that went!
Restaurants we had table service at: Shutters, Tusker House, Ohana, Be Our Guest, 1900 Park Fare, California Grill, & Minnie's Holiday Dine Dinner at Hollywood & Vine

We did the Monorail Crawl and we were in the California Grill Lounge during Wishes. It is a cool experience but you see the fireworks from the side, so it's really not the same effect and since I knew what they SHOULD look like i ended up comparing. My coworkers who had not seen Wishes LOVED it. So you might not have felt it was worth hanging out for 45 minutes.

My family always does the dinning plan! We find it so easy to pay for all the meals ahead of time and then all you have to do is scan your magic bands. I will be trying California Grill for the first time in a couple of weeks and I am pretty excited for it. Ohana is always a must do for us but we like to go there for dinner.

We did that same dining plan our first trip with our 2yo and our 4 mos old. WE LOVED IT! At every buffet we could get food for our 2yo at no additional cost and she also got drinks.We really maximized it then! The second trip she was almost 3 and baby sister was 14 mos. We decided to do the deluxe thinking now we had two eating kiddos and we regretted that one bc it was just too much food. The last time we were off site and really missed being at disney and doing the dining plan. We're going in 2 weeks and staying off site again at my FIL's time share for $230 for the week so couldn't really justify staying at the resorts! :)

We have been to Disney World twice, 2013 and 2015 going again in 2017 and i would never go without the dining plan, the first year we only had quick service, but the next time we did the the 1 table service, 1 quick service and 1 snack. we are going with that plan in 2017 but they changed it for 2017 you get 2 snack credits per night, but you don't get the desert with the quick service like before which im fine with and that will be more then enough food for all of us. Love getting cheese fries for a quick lunch and only using a snack credit

So excited for you! After the rough year you have had, it's wonderful that you get to look forward to such a great experience. We just got back yesterday after staying at Coronado Springs. Praise The Lord for preferred rooms. That place is huge. We finally figured out how to get around on the last couple of days. Goodness. It's a pretty resort, though. They did have elevators, by the way. 😊

We do the dining plan just about every trip for November we did the dining plan but it took so long to eat this time on our November trip we also did it for our May trip we are planing on going in February not doing it then and for June plan on doing the quick service as I would rather spend more time in the parks since it's busy at that time and I would rather not spend a lot of time eating. Since becoming DVC members I can get a dining plan without a package deal or even if we are staying off site but we haven't tried this yet as I always use my points and stay on site I can't justify the great accomadations the deluxe hotels offer or really any of their hotels!

We are doing Hollywood and vine for the first time in May for dinner. We wanted to do the fantasmic package since we loved it last time. Haven't heard great things about it but the kids will enjoy the characters anyway! We are also doing CRT for the first time with our almost 3 year old daughter and almost 6yo son!

We are also trying garden grill for the first time since I was a kid! My husband insisted on pre rope drop crystal palace since it has become a bit of a tradition and he loves the breakfast for some reason. Hope piglet doesn't give us any attitude lol!
@beingmommywithstyle
@beingmommywithstyle 7 жыл бұрын
It isn't my husband's favorite food, but it does have a great atmosphere. I think if it were in any other park, it would have tougher competition - but since there isn't many TS in HS, it kind of just ends up being a default option - especially if you love character meals like we do. The characters are fun for the kids! CRT is amazing, I hope you love it! And yes, hopefully your Piglet is having a better day - ha! We are planning on giving that one another try at some point!

We love dinning plan! We did H&V for second year in a row and we still not convinced about it.. we love the characters in Christmas clothes but the service and the food is not 100% for us. California Grill is awesome for adults... good food and great view of the fireworks (finally this year did not rain)! You need to do it again for that! Its in our must do! We really love Crystal Palace.. good food, good character experience and good service! Totally recommend it! Chef Mickey is our favourite as well! We do not repeat BOG for Quick... not for us! - we will need to try it as Table -. CRT this year they change their menu - just one option for appetizers and only one plate for the table so not sure how this work if your are more that 3 adults -, the clock for dessert is back which is great but the organization is horrible (for enter to the restaurant and the princesses seems to be running from one to the other table). For sure if we go back we will do dining plan again!

We are going to Disney a month from today and we keep changing between the three plans. 3 adults are going and we love the idea of a sit down meal every now and again, but we aren't interested in character dining. At this point, I think we have eliminated the Deluxe and are between the two lower ones. Any advice?
@beingmommywithstyle
@beingmommywithstyle 7 жыл бұрын
We also eliminated the Deluxe as an option for us, because it just seemed like too much food. The middle one - Disney Dining Plan, ended up being perfect for us, but like I mentioned in the video... we do at least 1 table service for day, so I knew we couldn't go lower than that. If you aren't interested in doing at least one table service per day, you might be able to get away with the quick service plan and then just pay the table service meals out of pocket. I would say sit down and figure up the math or see if you can use a Disney Dining Calculator to help average the costs... I would guesstimate that if you are going to do more than 3 table service meals in a week while there, it would be better to go with the middle plan that has Table Service entitlements. Hope that helps!

Coronado Springs is great but it is very similar to Caribbean Beach. Just something to keep in mind. Personally I think your family would enjoy Art of Animation because you love great theming, as I do too. I know it's listed as value but I honestly feel it is at least a moderate. It's so different and fun!!

Thanks!! This is one we are considering at some point! I have to pick a hotel to spend a few days at before the DSMMC and AoA might be a good fit for that. I'm still deciding between Coronado, etc. :)

how do you manage going on vacations so often with both the girls in school? I feel like I only have two chances to go. March for spring break or summer, both very busy and expensive times of the year. I only wish I could take off in February or September, but schools frown upon taking the children out of school and it makes the teachers work harder to catch them up. So, just wondering how you manage?
@beingmommywithstyle
@beingmommywithstyle 7 жыл бұрын
Well, so far we've used their breaks to our advantage and they've missed little or no school. The spring trip was during Spring Break, so they didn't miss any days for that one - the cruise was before school started (school starts later here in MI, it starts in Sept) so no days missed for that - and the Fall trip was scheduled around a mini Fall break they had, so they only missed a few days for that trip. The February trip they will be missing some days for it since i didn't pick the time frame, it isn't planned around a school break... but we are fortunate that our school district encourages family vacations and them taking some days off of school to go on a family trip won't be a problem. :) Thanks for watching!
@cherie7607
@cherie7607 7 жыл бұрын
Oh I see. I think here in Oklahoma, our children do everything a month ahead those in Michigan. School starts in August, mini fall break in October, etc. That makes sense! I'm thinking of utilizing next year's mini fall break as well. The thing is, they are very strict on attendance so I'll need a plan lol. Thanks for your reply!

Hi Di.. Very cool about the Disney invite!! I laugh with you Do! I'm just as excited when planning a Disney trip!! So exciting!! So...I'm glad you mentioned the gratuity. We are doing table service on our next trip. So the gratuity gets charged to the credit card that is linked to the magic band? Would you be able to leave a cash gratuity? Just wondering. We make mousekeeping envelopes so I would just do extra for our table services is what I was thinking. This was very enformative! We are doing a Ohana breakfast too! I'm excited! We arrive on our son's birthday . He requested Crystal Palace for our first table service. We are also doing Rainforest cafe at AK Garden Grill at Epcot and Via Napoli . Plus a breakfast at BOG. We are going in April and I'm looking forward to Flower and Garden. I love Epcot! Thanks so much for sharing. I can't wait to here more on the invite!! Take care!!💖💖💖

Ok we have never been to Disney but are soon . The food seems extremely expensive . $125 for a meal for 4 ? Most places in your vlogs seem like really cheap buffet foods . What is your idea about eating in Disney ? Is it really worth it or can you go off park to eat ?
@beingmommywithstyle
@beingmommywithstyle 7 жыл бұрын
Well, going off property to eat while at WDW wouldn't even be a consideration... it is a HUGE property and the amount of time it would take to get out of the park, drive off property to get to any sort of restaurant and then eat, go back to the park - just wouldn't be worth the time sacrifice. Honestly, most of the food within close driving proximity to Disney isn't going to be any better anyways, it's all fast food or restaurants with same or lower quality food. And we're talking taking hours out of your day to just go grab lunch because of the time it takes to get on/off property. Prices wouldn't be much lower since it is a tourist area all around there as well. If you're looking to save money, you can bring snacks and food into the park with you, and that can help keep costs down. If you haven't been there, I can't really describe it - but Walt Disney World is HUGE... and there is quite a big of logistics involved to get around the property. There is a bit of a price premium with the food at Disney, but we just go into it with the understanding that it will be a bit higher because that's part of the deal. Absolutely plan to pay the Disney prices and eat food within the parks would be my suggestion. We do a lot of "table service" meals which are sit down meals you see in the videos, those are totally optional too... You can do "quick service" where you just walk up and get your food without reservations... and that would be about half the cost for a family of four. $50 per meal vs. over $100. Hope that helps! :)
