What about Squall from 8 and certain characters from 10 and 10-2 Besides, there's two facts you should consider, Kingdom Hearts is always E10+ after the first game, and Kingdom Hearts 3 is supposed to be the darkest game in the series, and will be likely to be Rated T Also, there are some Disney games that were Rated T, not counting Marvel or Star Wars, like The Incredibles and Tron: Evolution

Even though there's no official statements about the similarity between Emperor and Bowie it's totally probable that Amano may have been inspired on him for Emperor's design since he was his fan, in fact he worked together with Neil Gaiman in a sci fi comic about David Bowie called The Thin White Duke :)

Mateus is really underated villain. I thinks he´s the greatest along with Kefka.. I mean, how many other villains actually managed to destroy the whole kingdom by poisoning peoples drinking water? And this guy is the lord of both heaven and earth, but he also sold his soul for a devil himself, and became the lord of hell too. What else? He´s cold, calm, and never looses his temper, polite yet really dangerous. He should send Sephiroth to hell xP love: Mateus fan~

The Japanese seem to think that Emperor Mateus is the most popular Final Fantasy villain. He is what I call, the Lucifer of Final Fantasy. Lucifer and Emperor Mateus started out as gods but later become demons due to them being stupid enough to rule heaven with an iron fist. The Emperor normally looks like Lucifer, but looks Satan-like when he's fought as the final boss in Final Fantasy II. The truth is, The Emperor wanted to rule heaven with an iron fist, but becomes a demon as punishment for disobeying god so he ruled hell as a result.

I would actually really like to see FF2 completely remade from the ground up like 3 and 4 were. It would be a risky move because it's kind of the black sheep of the series and has every reason to be, but I think they could make a great villain out of this guy.

The whole "use skills to improve them" would work in a game with action based combat like Skyrim. If you gave FF2 the combat of FF15, it probably would translate really well. And the fact that Firion and friends can use multiple weapons just like the party in FF15.

You can't truly compare Gestahl with Mateus. Mateus is arrogant, proud and a true despot he is a tyranic SOAB who never lose his mind over stupid things like other villians do, he nevers falls into desperation and he is always "calm" at least most of the time he's very calculative and a brilliant mind whose only purpose is to control everything in the existance and he did "almost" because he controlled the earth, hell and heavens.

Well if I remember in terms of lore this is where the villains are ranked. 1: Chaos 2: ExDeath (He existed before creation) 3: Ultimecia (Time and Space) 4: CoD (The physical manifestation of Darkness) 5: Kefka (God of all magic) 6: Kuja (Destroyed a Planet) 7 Sephieroth (The Ultimate life form) 8 Emporer (Conqueror became a demon) 9 Golbez (Possessed by a cosmic being) 10 Jecht (Is Sin) 11 Garland (A fragment of chaos) 12 Gabranth (Although a total badass he is just a loyal Judge)

@kman618 Of course, The Emperor is that epic, besides he's one of the very few villians who can hold its own again feal chaos, others being Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Exdeath and prolly Golbez. I would say Kefka but he's mad and he ain't intelligent as Golbez, or Emperor cause he's mad and he only cares about destruction, Exdeath ain't a genius but's it is the strongest magic user thanks to the void
