@@wyatthicks-johnson2449 indeed, even in an ass backwards anti-gun state like new jersey the bayonet itself isnt illegal, only the mounting is, and even then only for certain weapons, as the mounting is considered to be an "evil feature" used to determine if a semi-auto rifle is an illegal "assault weapon". my older brother has a mosin with a folding spike bayonet, perfectly legal.

It’s literally just a carbine length gas system that is covered by rifle rails. The A2 gas block does nothing.

@@G19Jeeper It's a rifle length gas system, my other dissy is a mid-length. But what a dissipator did was give you rifle length iron sights. I know that it's hard to imagine in this world filled with optics that one would want rifle length iron sights yet dissys are a prime example of improving the AR platform.

Out of all the training I did in the Army, Bayonet training at Fort Knox was the most exhausting training I've ever done. Low crawling barbed wire water pits, then rushing a 100m hill, stabbing targets every 20m as you run up it screaming. I think of that every time I see a bayonet now...nightmares

I took a genuine GI bayonet and had a local welding/machine shop cut it down 1.5" so it'd fit on my 13" SBR. The handle (plastic slabs cut to fit also) is still grippable, and it looks awesome!

Don't know about your specific model, but as far as I'm aware, the Mossberg 590A1 takes the same bayonets as anything M16-adjacent, and as such an M7 or M9 bayonet would be ideal.

When we did bayonet training at Ft. Polk, in 1986, I had my grandfather's WWI bayonet modified to fit my M-16A1. Quite the site to see that bayonet being used.
