The first duel is evidence than even if your deck is extremely powerful, you need to know when to activate effects, and think about what you want to end in the first turn. I have see a few people playing tear with the click yes turbo mentality (activating tear monsters that will get shuffled before they even resolve for example) and yeah very often they lose games that they could have easily won. Also you have to be a madman to play 2 Protos.

I do that in regards to multiple tears in grave but only when i suspect my oponent has a bystial in hand

The problem is Tear misplayed heavily and the Swordsoul player still needed to heavily outplay him. If the Tear player made one less mistake the Swordsoul player was cooked despite playing perfectly. Frankly a slightly weaker deck still would have lost to that Tear player even with the misplays.

I ran into a Tear player like that first one. I don’t usually get mad at Tear but that one pissed me off because he was so objectively bad and made the wrong decision at every turn and wasted so many actions but somehow still was in a winning position. Crazy!

That Sword Soul vs Tearlament really puts into perspective how poorly designed Tearlaments is. The player pretty much just monkey clicked yes to everything to end on a subpar board and yet the Swordsoul player still has to play at a 100% just to beat it.

I'm also currently on 3 Protos in my Swordsoul build just so I can make sure I am doing absolutely everything possible to screw over Tear players. Surprisingly it hasn't caused me to brick yet and I've been playing it since the start of the format.

I'd love to duel you, granted I don't use duel links much more into duel nexus because the card selection and easy ability to get any card, but bishbalkin is apart of my combo along with either stardust sifr or king calamity on my opponents turn to stop them from activating any cards

Of course, its about relative value, not some aspect of being a simulator, Draw 2 has little tactical application, its a nice pickup, but hand ripping someone with knowledge, or stealing a monster for a turn, has much bigger value swing in terms of enabling plays
