It's not really that hard though, because you use a fusion spell, you can not use cards that are unaffected by spells. Most rulings DO make sense once you understand them. Some rulings really dont though.

Little Kuriboh didn't even know the basic ruling. In one of his Christmas special they had somebody to be there who knows the ruling of the game. Also he only abriged the Movie and the 1st season which again has some really weird rulings to certain cards.

Droplet only check the ORIGINAL type of the sent cards. So by sending a single Conq the opponent won't be able to respond with Traps (S/M can be chained). Also in the case of a Paleo, you can't use it at all since it gets banished and you have to pay costs exactly as written ( but even if you could, say for example under Lancea, Droplet would recognize said Paleo only as a Trap, its original type)

Makes me wish activations couldn't be negated, just effects. Would make things so much simpler.

I always thought if a spell or trap was activated and it's negated it was never on the field. Like if Light and Darkness negates a continuous spell or trap card it is destroyed even thru LaDD only negates activation's not destroys. Yugioh rulings are a mess.

They're different effects. The grave effect of the destroyed Apocalypse doesn't have to activate. Also Balelynx is a thing.

There are multiple things to consider in this scenario. Most importantly the protection of the grand duke has the word 'instead' so it is a replacement that just happens when the chain is resolved and does not activate. Therefore it cannot be negated by dragoon. On the other hand sudden shift doesn't meet its trigger in this chain, so the window to activate it is in a new chain right afterwards. So you cannot chainblock cards that banish it for cost with sudden shift, like Tai A. However you can chainblock the grand dukes second effect with it, since it meets it's trigger at the same time. Sorry if that was a bit long, I'm not very efficiant at writing in english ^^

And sudden shift starts a new chain which makes sense now, just out of curiosity for future rulings say its the opponents turn main phase 1 and the grand dukes 2nd effect and sudden shift both trigger...can I chain block his dragoon even though he has turn priority...so grandduke chain 1 , sudden shift chain 2 , dragoon chain 3 but then cant the turn player respond to grand duke with dragoon as chain link 2 , so granduke chain 1 , dragoon chain 2 and then sudden shift chain 3. Sorry for so such long responses aswell lol its hard explaining in few words , but Thank you I really appreciate it.

@@viserys247 It can't be negated because it's a replacement effect, just like balelinx or dingirsu. And yes you can order your chainlinks in a way so that dragoon can only negate sudden shift, even during the opponents turn. The only scenario where it would matter who's turn it is, is if you and your opponent both have triggereffects that meet their requireents at the same time. For example you play the xiangjian mirror and both have grand duke on board and your sudden shift gets banished during your opponents turn. In that situation his duke gets to be CL1 because he is turn player, but you can still freely choose which of your effects will be CL2 and CL3. I hope everything is clear now :)

Okay so. If a monster says ''unaffected by card effects'' Raigeki would NOT destroy the monster unaffected, but Raigeki is able to activate, because the monster does not prohibit you from using spells. If a monster says ''can not be targeted with card effects'' and the only card on field is a monster with that specific text, Raigeki Break would not be a legal activation because you can not target the only card on field. The reason why FOF is not a legal activation, is because the Monk is unaffected by any card effect, it can not be used for a fusion summon using a fusion spell or trap, and you have no other cards in hand, the fusion summon can not go through, and as we know you can not activate cards that can not resolve. Pay good attention to the COST ( ; ). If the cost is UNABLE to be paid, it cannot activate. So example Raigeki Break. Opp has Raidraptor Ulti-Falcon on the field, with the CONDITION ''Unaffected by other cards' effects'', you activate Raigeki Break, now at this point when you pay the cost you need to discard a card, and target 1 monster on the field. Ulti Falcon IS a legal target, but it does nothing else, but it is a legal activation because the cost can be paid legally. With Raigeki, becase your opponent has a monster on the field, Raigeki is always able to be activated in this case. A little long, but i hope this help with future rulings :)

Because those are things you can attempt to do. You cannot activate cards that won’t resolve, but Raigeiki and Raigeki Break will resolve because even though the monster is indestructible, they will still attempt to destroy. But since the monster was already unaffected the moment you activated Super Poly or Fusion of Fire, you cannot activate because you do not have the necessary materials upon activation so it cannot resolve. Things will be different though if they chained the Lance to you fusion spell, because at the activation you had the valid materials, but if they chain Lance, Super Poly will still attempt to Fusion but cannot do to no valid materials.

So in my oppinion you both are saying the same. I can activate Raigeki, because it can TRY to destroy falcon (a tower monster). But otherwise why is the fusion not able to TRY to fusion summon and just dont succeed in the resolve of the effect? For me it just sounds like konami said so.

When you say: You cannot activate the Fusion because any monster that is uneffected by spells is considered "not on the field"/ " not being able to use as fusion material (by a spell effect)" Why then is this not the same for Raigeki? Why is than this monster recognized by raigekis effect? (If the only monster your opponent controls is uneffected by raigeki)
