Could you cover the rulings on the "end of the Damage Step" triggers? When is a monster like that considered the *same card* to have battled, to then activate in the GY if it was destroyed by then? Does that depend on damage calculation being dealt? Because whether you reach the start of the Damage Step or "after Damage Calculation", a monster previously on the field that was destroyed by card effect is still considered to have battled.

How does the card Stand In work with Legacy of Darkness? Do you have to have a monster on your field with the same type and attribute that you could tribute? Or are you just allowed to tribute their monster and immediately take it for yourself?

Question: Is the 2nd effect of Connector of Nephthys functionally different from the other Nephthys monsters in regards to it's activation? My understanding is the pringles don't activate until your next standby phase, at which point the window for response is open, and they can be removed from the GY early to prevent their effects activating. Based on how it's worded differently, I've been interpreting Connector as activating at the moment it's tributed or destroyed, and that being the window for responding with an effect that negates activations, but the effect not doing anything until the next standby phase, at which point it's already been activated and is just now resolving, so it can't be responded to. Am I widely misunderstanding? For reference, Connector's effect in question: "If this card is Tributed or destroyed by a "Nephthys" card effect: You can activate this effect; during the next Standby Phase, destroy up to 3 "Nephthys" cards, except Ritual Monsters, 1 each from your hand, Deck, and field. You can only use each effect of "Conductor of Nephthys" once per turn." And the shared wording for activation on the other Nephthys pringles: "During your next Standby Phase after this card was destroyed by card effect and sent to the GY: [effect]"

Can Augoeides' effect activate once Accesscode has completed its chain, or does it "lose its timing" as it cannot respond to accesscode?

hey coder, i have a two part question for your next rulings vid. can you always ash virtual world city - kauwloon? and if so, to what degree? here is what i mean by that: (first part) kauwloon has an effect wher it says "then, if you control 3 or more 'virtual world gate' cards, you can mill 3", which is the ashable part. from my understanding you should always be allowed to ash, bc it checks the condition on resolution (and then you also decide if you want to gain the effect), so at the time of activation - no matter the board state - it is theoretically possible to gain that effect, which should always make ash live. (second part) this is a more generic question about ash. the card is written a bit weird from a grammar point of view, because you have the main clause ("if a card/effect is activated"), a relative clause (that includes any of these effects") and the second sentence (after the colon) referring to the first one ("negate that effect"). i would argue that the 'effect' in the second sentence refers to the main clause of the first sentence, so the whole effect gets negated (in that specific case kauwloon does nothing, also does not set a gate from the deck) and it is worded that way to clarify that it does not negate the activation, like some other cards do. friends of mine on the other hand argue that the second sentence of ashe refers to the relative clause, resulting in ash anly being able to negate the very part of the effect needed to meet her activation requirement. i hope this comment is not a complete mess but lets you understand the issue we are having. anyway, thanks for reading and also thanks for the great content. really helps relearning the game and using psct to solve most issues by reading closely. have a good one :)

My opponent controls a face-up Invoked Augoeides when I special summon my target from deck. Can my opponent in a new chain during damage calculation then chain the Invoked Augoeides to destroy the monster I special summon? Thanks hope you have a good day!

Red eyes fusion says “ using monsters from your hand deck or field as fusion material.” Does not say “use red eyes or red eyes black dragon monster cards as fusion material”. Dragoon says Dark Magician and either Red Eyes Black Dragon or 1 dragon effect monster. Meaning Red Eyes Fusion can Fusion Summon Red Eyes Dark Dragoon using Dark Magician and either Red Eyes Black Dragon or a dragon effect monster as materials from the hand, field, or deck. Red Eyes Dark Dragoon’s name becomes Red Eyes Black Dragon but is still effectively Dragoon and cannot be targeted or destroyed by either player’s card effects, etc.

Question: if you activate the effect of evil thorn to damage your opponent and then special summon 2 copies of it from deck, but your opponent has a card activated like waboku or rainbow life, do you get to resolve the second part of its effect?

Xyz encore can be used against number 86 heroic champion because even tho it targets the monster, detaching the materials is not considered to be affecting it. However in the case of cards that attach materials such as time theif perpetua, I believe those are considered to affect the monster. Can you explain if this is correct and if so why it is ?

I'm thinking of if it tributes a trap-monster or a trap/spell set using the effect of Magical Hats. Since both are treated as monsters on the field, does it count them as monsters tributed, spells/traps tributed, or both?

Hey Coder, I hope you see this as I've been trying to get official clarification on this ruling. Was playing DB earlier and ran into this situation. My opponent has a Conquistador of the Golden Land summoned as a monster on their field, with five backrow set. I have a Subterror Guru on the field and a set Subterror Final Battle. My opp attempts to go to EP. During EP I activate Final Battle as CL1, and then Guru as CL2, setting both Guru and the Conquistador. I say to my opponent that due to them having a full backrow, instead of Conquistador being reset it would be sent to the GY. My opponent says that Guru may be an illegal activation at this point. We call a judge, and after a while the judge rules this way, but states he is very unsure of the ruling and should check or appeal if unhappy. What is the ruling in this situation? Just wanting to clarify in case this was to come up again in future 😁👍

Lumina, Twilightsworn Shaman's effect is triggered if another Lightsworn monster's effect is activated. Wulf, Lightsworn Beast is triggered if it is sent from the deck to the graveyard. Is there a specific order you have to follow to summon the Wulf, mill for Lumina, Twilightsworn Shaman and then draw for Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn? thank you!

Say ulti falcon leaves the board and i have the skip force in grave am i legally allowed to revive it or not? Hey Coder, question: Turn 1. I control a Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-Mode (with no XYZ material) and a Madolche Queen Tiaramisu (with 2 Madolche Messengelato as XYZ materials). I also have a Madolche Puddingcess and a Madolche Promenade in the GY. I activate Queen's effect, detaching Messengelato and then targeting both Puddingcess and Messengelato in the GY. I chain Promenade, banishing it and then targeting Choco. How does the chain resolve? Can I attach my Puddingcess in the GY to Choco? Does Messengelato still gets shuffled back? And will Choco's effect trigger to special summon a Madolche from the deck? Love your vids, especially the ruling vids. They're really helpful and informative.

7:20 on edopro I summoned dragon using the muddragon synchro and a spirit of white on my field and I was able to destroy 1 monster with dragoon effect. I thought it checked the "normal monster" used as fusion after the materials hit the grave... or maybe this is a tcg/ocg difference thing

My opponent uses Twin Twisters to destroy my Sky Iris and Pendulum dragon. Since Twin Twister has to target a card before it destroys it, and Sky Iris prevents an opponent from targeting my Odd Eyes scales, what happens? Do both targets get destroyed anyway? Does just the Sky Iris get destroyed? Or does something else happen?

More of a ruling clarification than a question. Cause I have seen it happen but never really understood why? So if player A summons Alister and activates his effect as chain link 1, Gamma then chains to this chain link 2, (I have seen) Psy-Frame Alpha chain link 3. So despite being a 'when' effect that misses timing. I assume this is because despite Alister and Gamma activating the last thing to properly resolve would have been the summon? Is this the case or not? I have seen loads of Psy-Frame players do this

If I use the GY effect of Invocation to shuffle Invocation back into the deck and add the Aleister to my hand then I proceed to normal summon Aleister the Invoker. Does Aleister the Invoker's effect to add an Invocation to my hand still activate or is it still negated?

Scenario 1) all monsters are valid summon targets on GY or Spell/Trap zone (ex rivalry of warlords+zombie world, you have a monster on the field, all CB in GY are zombies on activation) Scenario 2) you have some valid targets in GY/backrow that could be special summoned under the current restrictions (ex Barrier Statue of Stormwinds is on the field, you have Sapphire Pegasus on the Backrow) Scenario 3) there are no valid targets that could be immediately summoned but you could legally special summon monsters in some way (ex same scenario as above but no Pegasus) Scenario 4) completely unable to special summon (ex Vanity's Ruler)

If I have unchained sarama on the field and my opponent pops it with dragoons effect and then I decide to float into another twin with saramas effect, I do have abominable unchained soul in my hand, but before I chain my own abominable I am REQUIRED to FIRST allow my opponent to respond with dragoons negation effect if they choose to correct? If and once they negate my saramas floating effect can I summon my abominable from my hand, or do I have to chain the summon to dragoons negation effect?

This might be too late but there are a couple of interactions I'm not sure about and both are...out there. The first is El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis vs Soul Pendulum or Pendulum Encore. My understanding is that Anoyatyllis wouldn't interact with Soul Pendulum at all, since the effect simply allows you to perform a game mechanic again, but would interact with Pendulum Encore and restrict the person using it to only Pendulum Summoning from the Extra Deck since its performing the summon as part of the effect. Would you be allowed to activate Pendulum Encore even if you are unable to Pendulum Summon from the Extra Deck? (My guess is no). The second is Infinite Impermanence vs Black Luster Soldier (the Ritual monster). Is BLS ever a valid target for Infinite Impermanence since it is not a monster that normally has effects, even if it has inherited effects via Beginning Knight or Evening Twilight Knight, and if it is, can those effects be negated by Infinite Impermanence? This is a weird interaction of a Non-Effect monster gaining effects by the effects of another card so I wanted to be sure about it.

Hey coder got a few questions in regards to Accesscode Talker: after summoning Accescode I trigger its effect to gain attack, I then chain Call of the Haunted targeting the same monster Accesscode is. Does Accesscode still get its attack buff? Also if I chain an effect to Accesscode can my opponent chain Called by the Grave to that effect to prevent Accesscode from getting its buff?

Hey if I activate number 26: spaceway octobypass( then activates it’s effects to allow only one monster to attack directly but switch control of the monster after damage calc) then summon a monster that is unaffected by card effects(example, Ultimate falcon) can the unaffected monster still attack directly and not get sent to my opponents side of the field or will to not be able to attack at all? Stuff that is unaffected are really weird 😅

Ruling question: If my opponent targets my Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray with a card effect and I chain it's effect to equip itself with a ZW - Tornado Bringer, would the card effect that originally targeted the Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray resolve since it has already targeted it at the start of the chain or would the effect not be able to resolve due to the target becoming unable to be targeted?

Question: I control Toadally Awesome and my opponent controls two set traps, an altergeist manifestation and a personal spoofing. He flips the manifestation and I respond sending Toadally itself to the grave to negate, and he chains spoofing. Can he shuffle manifestation into the deck to add a card with spoofing, or can't he because manifestation is considered not yet controlled by my opponent since toad is trying to negate its activation? Since the ruling with Laggia negating a summon is that the monster is not considered on the field when Laggia activates its effect, I wanted to know if this works with spell and traps too. Thanks 😁

I actually have one question that's been racking my brain lol. Let's say I have a Melffy Hide-And-Seek and Danger! Bigfoot face-up on my side of the field. My opponent summons Dragoon on their turn, and decides to pop Danger! Bigfoot with its effect. It's not destroyed the first time, so he does it twice on Bigfoot for good measure. Do I take 6k damage for the activation of the effect happening twice or only 3k for it only successfully destroying Bigfoot once?

If i play something like effect veiler or ice beast zerofyne to negate red eyed dark dragoons effect, can red eyes negate that with its quick effect or no? Hence one is being sent from the hand to the graveyard and the other is on the field.
