Great to see the distress inks can be used - i bought up a bunch of those before I'd even heard about oxides, so had wondered how i could use them with my gelli plate

I quit using my gelli plate because of this beading up problem with the distress inks. I am not a plastic paint type of person. So I thank you for this demo. The secret is using watercolor paper. YES!!!

Hi Teresa love this I do it myself and just to add if people don’t not like the first pull they can spritz the paper lightly as the inks will reactivate and you get a different effect with som areas of white you can also dry the ink between with a heat tool if you do not want them to mix at all between layers.

Hi Teresa, Fairly new to paper crafting and have been trying to get new ideas for cardmaking...I came across this video and it was just what I was looking for because I have a gel plate, but been afraid to use it😁. You are hands down the best at making prints and it's so easy to follow your process because you are so organized. I love these prints you made. I'm assuming that any dye ink would work the same as the distress ink?

I am surprised you did not use your brayer to rub the paper to get the impression. I like the information regarding the distress inks compared to the distress oxide inks.

If you brayer over the ink you can get a more blended color transition. I also like to use plain cardstock. It seems to work quite well. I dont much like the bumpy watercolor paper. I do enjoy watching different techniques!

I have been viewing so many videos and I was one of the ones asking if you could use distress inks on a gelli plate! i really appreciate how clear and detailed your explanations are here of the differences between the two types of inks. I am new to the gelli plate and can't wait to start playing. I'm so glad I found this post today!

Don't you have to be careful after using the first ink pad that the 2 ink pad doesn't get the first ink color on it?I did some smouching with the oxide and noticed a bit of the 1 st pad onto the 2nd pad.I want to be more careful. I just learned the difference of the 2 kinds of ink pads by this video. I just have the oxides. I am enjoying the videos so much Thank you. I tried the magazine page but it didn't work out so I noticed a 2nd video with the magazine page so I will watch that.I need to know if the layers have to be dry first.I will pay better attention Thank you very much

I do try to avoid cross contaminating the ink pads . If a bit of stray ink gets on there I just swipe the pad on clean paper to remove most of it.
