what i see: this reminds me of kid in high school where he got bullied by some of his “friends”.They would hit him and he continued to hang out with them. I see it as a weakness and everything he says is clearly a rationalization. Being a victim and not being able to stand up for yourself and give the appropriate “punishment” is not virtue. Being harmless doesn’t make you good.

I would love to see Chael's view from that chair. There's always something catching his eye, maybe a mural of himself as World Champion

I've been waiting on the edge of my seat! That was a wild story, I still feel like he's being way way to nice about the whole thing. Like to the point I'm actually worried for him, he sounds borderline delusional talking about it.

I am at a loss for words at the response from John. I am having trouble forgetting this story myself, not sure how any sane person could move past a situation like that and continue to be friends with the person who was trying to physically harm you. This is 100% Stockholm syndrome. Something as significant as that should have put an end to the friendship at the very least. I sincerely hope John reconsiders his decision to continue a friendship with Steve.

I watched this interview/story half a dozen times and am loving that you have come back to it for an update.

'Steve' is Douglas Crosby, an MMA judge who's had some other messed up allegations made against him... I'm assuming to be true. I don't know who the other two men are, but Douglas is the main instigator and the one wielding the knife.

Man videos like this really show you how tough Chael is. Growing up in the mean street of west linn Oregon he surely seen a countless number of event like this that must of been traumatising, probably seen them daily but he’s willing to talk through this poor mans story and relive all the nightmares he must suffer from the memories of the mean streets of west linn Oregon

This has scared John so fully that even now he fears being vulnerable to this day. This is awful. These three creatures need to be cut off from friendship with him forever. They showed. Who they were. Not friends but opportunistic predators.

This is heartbreaking. The one unanswered question is no reparation was made really, was it? I mean, it can take many forms. I really do hope in my life that if i'm ever victimised like that, even if i totally get over it and turn it into a positive; that i'll still believe a debt has to be paid..

Wow, I've been waiting for this update, you get through school and college and think the bullying is over and life sends a curve ball as an adult, think about it one is threatened with losing his job his lively for his family, he's the teammate the captain said do it or your off the team, one is just a follower, then there's John the one who's scarred and it changed his life, and hat's off to the captain who is so high up and from what I understand is so intelligent he can explain away his psychotic actions and still get away with it
