When I was in high school the shop teacher said females make better welders for several reasons but mostly because their hands are more steady than most men.

MiG welding was basically invented for assembly lines to speed up and simplify the welding process so companies could easily train employees who otherwise would have difficulty welding. Now take a good welder and give them a stick , they can out weld and get a better quality weld than any mig welder. Tig is nothing more than gas welding with electric instead of the gas.

I don't know, worked in a weld shop for 15 years and saw some guys that really could lay down some great welds that would easily pass a die check and X-ray exam. The guys there would save the stick welding for heavy structural jobs

Just for clarification, thorbros still sells the 5-link system. Its just not 100% bolt on like this older one.

Are you guys gonna do a full build video on the S10 when it's done??? Also I have an idea for your next build. Take a OBS Chevy or GMC and build a Phantom Dually Truck. Either a single cab or extended cab RWD long bed and put dually bed on it with some super wide tires and wheels on the back. LS Swap or a decent Vortec 350. 5 or 6 speed swap. Maybe a c notch with a suspension drop. Nothing crazy, just a cool budget friendly daily driver or shop truck. I hope to do this one day and would like to see what you guys would come up with. 😎

I would never trust a bolt on back half, besides all those bolts look like crap. I would've bolt it together and then weld it up for extra strength front and back . And box in the rear frame section for even more support

@Jonboat Morava o guess I am just not trusting of something that is supporting the entire back of the vehicle to some bolts. I guess it is because I would have just made a completely new, completely reinforced back half that was welded

The rest of the truck would fold long before the bolted on back section would fail....

That 5 link is WAY overkill, you can lay frame on a S10 with just a basic notch and use a mono leaf with block most of the time. If you wanna lay with wheels bigger than like 18s then yea you need a link set up, but then the rear will be the least of your worries, the front is where you need major surgery to lay frame

That is false info. The majority of drops on these trucks are static, mainly a 2/3 drop with drop knuckles/spindles up front and a couple of blocks out back. I can tell these guys are talking out of their asses.
