@@simplyhomeschool18 Hi again, I'm not sure if you've made one yet but do you have a video on how you homeschool with multiple kids. My youngest will be starting K5 in the fall and my son will be starting 2nd grade would love how you manage your day. Also may I ask would you advice that since this is our first year with Abeka that I start with the K5 bible curriculum or should I go ahead and get the 2nd grade bible curriculum not sure if the same material is covered? And lastly how did you bind your daughters worksheets together
@simplyhomeschool18
@simplyhomeschool18 3 жыл бұрын
So, I don’t have a specific video on teaching multiple kids. I have been doing child led learning with my son so I have been working with him when he wants to. This coming up school year I will have it a little more structured. But, whenever you are working with your k5 kiddo have your 2nd grader doing subjects that are more independent. And take turns doing it that way. 😉 With Abeka’s Bible curriculum they actually use the same flash a cards throughout all grades. They just alternate them. So I would think you can do them both together. Especially being that their age difference isn’t huge. Maybe while you are teaching them you can always have you younger kiddo color something having to do the Bible while you are reading, just to keep his hands occupied so he doesn’t get distracted. If he isn’t a coloring type, maybe playdoh, Arons crazy putty, or anything that he can keep his hands busy. ☺️ I use the Proclick and I love it! You can even use a 3 ring binder. Here’s the link for the Proclick and binding spines. I hope this helps. FUNNNN day!!!!! I’m going to try to just let him grab the book he needs and start to work. We’ll see how that goes. I feel good about it but you never know. Last year I filed each lesson and it was a bit much for me cause our week is soo different. Maybe this way if it wanted to move on he could 🤷🏻‍♀️. When do you ever find time for the night zookeeper? Do you still do that?
@simplyhomeschool18
@simplyhomeschool18 3 жыл бұрын
I can see how the filing system didn’t work out for you. But, that’s what it’s all about. Finding what works for you me fam. Tali only does it about once a week. It’s been hard. We have a pretty full plate with everything and writing is getting a little more in depth with paragraphs, it is hard to find the time. But, if you are someone who doesn’t have a heavy load with a writing curriculum, it would be perfect. The program is pretty awesome.

Hello, I am so excited to have just found your channel, I'm bingeing all your videos, and I am taking notes on how you structure your whole curriculum, because it's exactly what Ive had in mind with it being eclectic and mostly traditional. I just wanted to confirm: you do Abeka LA/Writing/Spelling/Bible mostly parent led but you stream when needed, you do NotGrass SS, and you do Teaching Textbooks online for Math starting at grade 3, and you mostly plan unit studies for science. Is this all correct?
@simplyhomeschool18
@simplyhomeschool18 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I am so happy you have found my channel as well. So, we are using Abeka for our Language Arts program (mostly video led) we use Abeka for our Bible which is parent lead and I add supplemental things to it. For math we use Teaching Textbooks. History we use Notgrass and I add in my own unit studies on specific topics or people that we want to learn more about. For geography we also use Notgrass and I’ve added in some fun supplemental items to that as well. And lastly, we use the Good and the Beautiful for our science. This is our first year using it and we aren’t sure if it’s a good fit as of yet. Hopefully we will know by the end of our 2nd quarter. It seems like a lot pulled in from everywhere, but the kiddos are enjoying this year more than any other. So I feel like that a win 💗

Hey Liz, super random. But do you still have your video on bunnies? We are thinking of getting one. But wondered the things you need and how you handle having a pet for you "school room"
@simplyhomeschool18
@simplyhomeschool18 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ashlyn, that’s so exciting. So, I think I just talked about them in one of my day in the life’s. If you’re thinking of a bunny, I would look into Holland lops. Our first bunny was a Holland lop and was much sweeter than our new buns. Milo and Marshmellow are Netherland dwarfs and they are a little more skiddish. Check out the rabbit society websites, they have the best info on bunnies. Anything you learned about bunnies aren’t really the case. Carrots aren’t great for them. They need Timothy Hay for their main diet. As babies until 1 they should have pellets as well, but a specified amount. The best brand that I know of is Oxbow. They also need greens daily, but only specific ones. And they can eat certain fruits but only once in a while. You don’t want them in heat 80 degrees or higher. They are very active and like to play, so being caged their whole lives aren’t good. They need to be able to run around and get exercise. Just be careful because they love to chew. So make sure you hide cords and anything they can harm themselves with. They have really sensitive tummies. So you really have to stick them on a good diet. And they need hay at all times and water of course. I hope this helps a little. For sure check out the websites. They will have a list of foods for them.
