Crockpot Hot Cocoa:
2 cups chocolate chips
6 cup whole Milk
1&1/2cup heavy cream
1 to 3 tsp vanilla
1 can sweetened Condensed Milk
Congo Bars:
2/3cup butter softened
2&1/4 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2&3/4 c ap flour
2& 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 c chopped pecans
6oz chocolate chips
Assemble per video instructions: bake at 350 for 30 minutes (mine took 40 minutes)

I have a prayer request...my sister Sandy is going into hospice in a few hours. She had an OK morning but now they say she has 36 hours of life left. I know only God knows when he's going to take her home but please pray that she has an easy transition leaving this world. My heart is breaking. 😢😢😢 ❤❤❤

My mom used to make these when I was a little girl and I am 75 years old. They were called Congo Bars then too.

It is thought that Congo bars were either named after the Congo room in Las Vegas or the Congo square in New Orleans. Mmm haven’t made those in years..

I've made that hot chocolate recipe several times and it's my absolute favorite. I found it on Facebook and on there it's called "Christmas Eve Creamy Crock Pot Hot Chocolate". It's so wonderful. I hadn't thought about it yet for this year but I definitely need to get the stuff to make it again.

My Aunt Irene used to make the Congo bars back in the ‘60s when I was a young girl. She called them Congo Squares. I absolutely loved them and I’ve never seen another recipe for them! One request~the same as I made last year~please put some bells or bows or something around the beautiful deer you have displayed in your home! I love that Bright Farms brand of salad from Food Lion. I get it all the time. I usually put avocado and cottage cheese on it. Bell peppers and cucumbers, and (sometimes) tomatoes make a great salad. I don't use any salad dressing, so it is so healthy. Thanks for your video!

Girl you are killing me today. We made a KY sweet cake for trick or treat night and finishing it up today and don’t want anything else like that until thanksgiving where I love pumpkin pie!! I have apples I need to use so I’m gonna chop them up today and freeze for fresh apple cake thanksgiving. THE hot chocolate I can’t do because there is never enough people here to drink it lol my excuse lol With my car down it has kept me out of the stores and I only go when hubby can let me run in. I pray I get it back this week. I miss not going out when I need to. I DO plan to go through my Christmas stuff and sort to what I’m only going to use and see what my oldest daughter needs. Been having a lil thing in my shoulder again.. not like before but the ache that went down my arm from the pinched nerve. Nursing that a little. Excited for your haul!!

Please don't get sick with the drastic change in the weather... Keep warm .... Love the outfit glad you got the jeans.... Our weather will be back to the 80's tomorrow we had two days of cooler temps I loved it.... Paperwork must be done to balance everything especially on the farm... It’s hard to rent a cabin in the smokies area here. I mean, I’m sure you CAN… but, goodness! I never realized how many people come up here for thanksgiving and Christmas! I mean, it’s busy all year! However, I always thought it was be slower because I thought people wanted to be home. Nope! They come up here. It’s a fun idea!- just never thought much about it until 11 years ago and watching the increase. You will get to do that, I just know it! I guess my point was (long way around saying it)… you might want to plan it lke you do your summer vacations. Get it 6 mo-1yr in advance. Just a suggestion for this area. I like that sweatshirt. It reminds me of late 70s, early 80s clothes I wore. Loved the styles then. Is been in low 20s the last 2 nights here. Leaves about gone, but a few still hanging n and pretty. My yard is FULL! It’s really been “leading” a lot since it was mowed a week or so ago.

Here’s what I found on the Congo bars online.: Congo Bars or Congo Squares are a popular dessert in the southeastern United States. They are also known as Blond Brownies, or Blondies (as they are made without any cocoa powder). They don’t have anything to do with Africa - the Congo region has no tradition of baked desserts such as brownies and cakes, and wheat (for flour) cannot be grown in Central Africa. In fact, most of Africa has little tradition of sweet desserts. The name Congo Bars is a fanciful allusion to a mythical Congo, which also inspired the famous Congo Room of Las Vegas, and even the Congo Room of Canton, Ohio. Perhaps someone thought that all of the exotic ingredients (the chocolate, the coconut) might come from Africa. In New Orleans, there is a plaza called “Congo Square” (also known as Beauregard Square and now part of Louis Armstrong Park) which, in the early 19th century, was a gathering place for both free and enslaved African-Americans who met for marketing, music-making, and dancing - and eating this variety of brownie? Who knows?

Oh, girl, you need to computerize your farm accounting. Things could be entered as it is ordered, when it arrives, quantity, supplier, etc, etc. reports could be printed out by pressing a button. Inventory kept, everything. Chickens could be computerized, dates, etc. my goodness, girl, get computerized! Come into the current century! Don’t take this as a negative…it’s not meant that way. It is meant as helpful advice.
