listen as Stuart is just introducing the song, a guy shouts "Stuart" and Stuart replies "what", the guy shouts back "stay alive" and Stuart replies with "i'm trying te" Just thought that this was a bit poignant as it seems maybe Stuart was struggling a bit even at this stage of his life. R.I.P. big man, I'll never forget you, and was was always a pleasure meeting you.

One of BC's best songs. Just knowing what was going to happen to Stuart brings so much more to the lyrics. Suicide stinks....

We thought we did dive into you. We thought we understood. We thought we got it. We didn't; depression and alcoholism doesn't work like that. We miss you, Stuart (more than maybe you knew we would). Knowing how to swim doesn't mean you'll never drown. Indeed, but, let's hope we all conquer and find the healing sea.

This is Stuarts last gig in Big Country. Shortly after he left BC and started a new solo group, I think people thought he was just on a break and would eventually come back to settle down just like Mark B did after a few years of absence. Stu never find it in his heart to come back though, instead he tragically took his own life and was found dead in a hotel room on the 16th of December in 2001.

There were several red flags throughout Stuart's career I felt. The chorus to Chance was a huge one.I felt several other lyrical passages hinted at a tortured soul.I hope he is at peace now.A talented humble guy.

The version of Big Country that's playing now...😢 They should have called it a wrap after Stuart died.

Remember hearing porrohman for the First time in 1983 i was sold to the greatness of these scotsmen and through the years the love for the band has not faded one bit. Missing Stu and his rock`n Roll melankoli voice! Thankful for the Music that he gave ~ we`re just the shadow......

I remember well when I first heard this song. It really affected me, more than many of the brilliant songs that came before. It was hopeful, but also melancholy. It is so honest, a plea to be heard, to be noticed, to be embraced. But it can fall on deaf ears. I never saw this live. And yes, it hurts. Every day.

Not only is this performance amazing, but look at the 4 of them. All different in how they perform, yet so in tune. Tony is just jamming. Stuart is so focused on the sentiment. Mark is amazing, as ever and Bruce is so wonderful on keeping it all interesting. WOW
