Oh that poor poor old Jade 😿 it just breaks my heart to see such a sweet and beautiful plant all rotted like that. Bless you sir, you did your best but almost a year later with no update I can only assume it was DOA. Even with fresh soil and a few days of exposing the roots to dry them out, even if you chopped and propagated the whole thing, I doubt it would've done much good.

If it was me I wouldn't separete the plant .it would look nice as a twin trunk bonsai. If you can help the roots to get healthy again. Jade plants don't like wet feet. And with no drainage holes .the poor plant suffered. I can't understand people who buy plants and don't try to learn everything about it them

Hi. Thanks so much for sharing your “Old Grama Jade “ with us! I love jade plants and I have several in my home. I am curious to know why you kept the old soil and also kept the planter with no holes in the bottom? Based on your video it seems like there was a lot of root rot since there was standing water on the bottom. Just wondering wouldn’t it have been healthier for the plant to remove all of the old soil and inspect the roots and then transfer to a new pot? Thanks!

What time of year is best to attempt this? I have a mature jade plant that has 5 trunks in the pot, they they’re not anywhere as thick as yours.

We had a huge Jade in the garden that was growing over the border so my husband ripped half out the ground and planted it about a meter away, adding compost to our very sandy soil. And then I went out to give it a very good water that day and again the next day. Maybe not my best idea. Did you think it will survive?
