ATEEZ first performed Black Cat Nero on Immortal Songs a competition show where newer artists are invited to cover songs from a guest artist (in this case Turbo). They won the episode and KJK agreed to do a cameo in the MV. ATEEZ often drops something for Halloween. One thing about ATEEZ is their live performances are often better than their MVs and Black Cat Nero is no exception. I highly recommend the live. I also recommend listening to their songs in order beginning with their debut songs Pirate King and Treasure if you want a better chance at understanding their lore. Basic overview: ATEEZ stands for A to Z. They are a modern version of pirates (treasure seekers). Using the Cromer (a special hour-glass) they travel between 2 universes: Universe A where ATEEZ are trying to reach their dreams and Universe Z, a dystopian world where ATEEZ's alter-egos the Halateez are fighting against their government who has banned all forms of art and anything else that evokes emotion because emotionless people are easier to control. Halateez are often represented in all black clothing with black hats as you saw in the middle of DejaVu (16:04). Halazia occurs in Universe Z and opens with an effigy of the Halateez (18:00). Thanks for the reaction!

Yes Seonghwa evokes so much gender envy 14:10, especially during Deja Vu promos! (He is the pink-haired one with snake earring in The Real and also the one with white hair in Halazia) I love that you basically pointed out all the members in the MV's: -Mingi: the deep-voiced rapper you pointed out in every MV -Hongjoong: the orange-haired, higher-pitched rapper in Deja Vu whose part you liked - also the one who did the dance break with mask in The Black Cat Nero (he is the leader aka captain, not the main dancer tho he is great) -Yeosang: the very deep-voiced vocalist in Halazia (yup that's his voice), had the toast in his mouth in The Real -Wooyoung: the bright red hair in Halazia -Yunho: two-toned hair in Halazia whose vocals you noticed in 18:40 -Jongho: the one who is belting out in every song

@aly so the gender envy thing is like in this instance, i saw seonghwa and how amazing he looked and wished i were as good looking and handsome. so i am envious of how handsome/beautiful/masculine/androgynous/etc he looks! just a beautiful, beautiful man, lmao. i’m not sure if that helps you out, but i hope it does, haha.

Thank you so much for checking out ateez, they're my absolute favourites Ateez is known for their heavy sound and performances, they have 2 rappers (Hongjoong and Mingi) and 6 vocalists (Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Wooyoung and Jongho). The one rapper with the deep voice is mingi I don't know what kind of sound you prefer when it comes to music, but those men have it all, so I'm just gonna recommend one or two songs with different styles Hard hitting/aggressive: wonderland, hala hala, pirate king Rock: Guerrilla, rocky Soft: utopia, aurora Ballade: Turbulence, be with you, mist Rap heavy: to the beat, the leaders Vocal heavy (aka the sound you hear when you enter heaven): answer, inception Summer vibes: Eternal Sunshine, wave, illusion Or you could check out their new MV Limitless (Japanese release) As for their lore, it's a lot lol It includes pirates, travelling to different universes, alternative dystopia realities, overthrowing oppressive governments, etc I'm sorry if this is a bit much/overwhelming, I'm just really happy that you want to hear more from them haha Thank you again for reacting to them, I promise you won't regret this journey should you want to start it Much love from Germany

Im so glad you enjoyed them! here are the members: hongjoong: leader, main rapper, composer (red.-orange hair in deja vu) seonghwa: oldest, lead dancer, vocal, visual, and recently sub-rapper too (pink hair in the real, longer black hair in deja vu, blonde in halazia; literally the biggest gender envy-) yunho: main dancer, vocal (he had brown hair in halazia, and was the center with red streaks in deja vu) yeosang: lead dancer, vocal, visual (the one with the bread in the real, and the one with the deep voice in halazia- and yes, that is his voice) san: lead vocal, main dancer (the one with the short black hair in all of them, he had the floating orb fall on him in halazia) mingi: main dancer, main rapper (hes the one with the deep voice you kept pointing out, hes my bias😊) wooyoung: main dancer, vocal (red hair in halazia) jongho: main vocalist, maknae (hes the one responsible for that crazy high note in the black cat nero, and pretty much any highnotes) you should definitely check them out more! halazia is from a mini album “spin off: from the witness” and halazia is the only new song on it, the rest are remixes. i would recommend you check out “the world ep: movement” and the title track for that album “guerrilla”. you should also check out “thanxx”, “say my name”, and “pirate king”. thanks for checking them out!

also, halazia deff kinda has cult vibes lol- basically in ateez’s lore, halazia takes place somewhere called strictland, which is a dystopian word that has banned emotions. ateez are fighting to free the people of strictland from their emotionless state with music, which is what the world ep is about. halazia is a spinoff to show the same story from the pov of a witness!

Lol black cat nero is someone elses song, they just covered it/rearranged it and yes the man you said was older isn't apart of the group, he is the original songs singer. Some parts of the dance, at least the part you showed is definitely apart of the original songs chorea which was in like the 90s i think. so some parts have had their flair but it’s different from their usual self for sure.

Thanks for reacting to Ateez :) They are an 8 member group under KQ Entertainment. They debuted on October 24, 2018 with double title track "Pirate King" and "Treasure". The fandom is called Atiny (Ateez+destiny). They are very versatile so you'll find hard- hitting bangers as "Fireworks" and also sweet ballads as "Be with you" in their discography. Recommendations: Guerrilla, Hala Hala and Cyberpunk. Hope to see more of them in the channel !!

Black cat Nero is actually a Turbo cover they performed on Immortal songs and won 1st place, then they decided to film a video for Halloween and you can see Kim Jongkook in the video with them. Later he likes them that much that they release an EP with them! You need to check the live ver on Immortal songs as well as their other Immortal songs performances!

Ateez have an incredibly varied discography, their title tracks are all in different styles and you can find even more in b-sides. Also, they're the most famous for their insane live performances - their MVs are cool but you need to watch some concert stages (they never block those from their tour DVDs) or music/award show stages. Black Cat Nero is Turbo's song from the 90s rearranged as a Halloween special, that older guy is KJK, the original singer. Since you liked Halazia so much you might enjoy Guerrilla or Fireworks or Answer, while closer to The Real's fun style would be Thanxx or Say My Name. For something completely different I'd suggest live performances of Take Me Home, Cyberpunk, Mist, Desire, Utopia or Rocky - all in different styles.

Thanks for deciding to dive into Ateez. If there is anything that I can say about this group is that their titles tracks do not give the full pictures of them as a group. They have songs in many genres and many of MY favorites are actually B-sides. They are a rollercoaster of emotions and full of chaotic energy. I also recommend watching their variety shows because they are unapologetically funny. It's usually "idol image, where?" XD And also, if you don't completely vibe with their music, that's okay too. I just want to say thanks for giving them some of your time. Have a nice weekend!

first of all: loving the gg covered room, I can see the immaculate TASTE so it wasn't a suprise that you connected with the teezers. I'd recommend for you to watch their realises in chronological order, but it's really optional and up to you, I know that if you liked those songs you would love the rest. also, you commented that maybe you'd do a reaction to the halazia ep but please don't 😭😭😭 it just contains remixes of other songs that you might like to check out first!! idk if anyone has already told you this, but they really don't play around with their lyrics!!, you mentioned how deep the lyrics SOUNDED but when you read them they HIT. they're also very well known for having a no skip discography, so I can assure you'll get blown away if you decide to do a listening party (will be tuning in bestie). and to end this unbelievable long comment (idk how it happened either) I really recommend you listen to guerrilla (also that whole album is chef kiss, the lyrics, the story they continue to tell trough all the different tracks, it's crazy)

For a good look into their lore I would suggest reacting to the album the world ep 1 movement, with lyrics cause all songs connect telling a story from start to finish. The story is told by the members of ateez or halateez while Halazia is a story from the witnesses, aka the people in the oppressed government that ateez are trying to free them of.

I will apologize now, because I'm not halfway through this reaction vid and I already have a literal book chapter ready to post. I also apologize if I repeat things others have said, because I haven't taken the time to read through all 90+ comments that are already here. Ugh. But, here we go... watching the rest and hoping you'll be willing to read through it all. I'm always so happy when I see people get started with ATEEZ! I've only been into Kpop for about 6 months, so I love seeing people's initial reactions to my absolute favorite guys. They're amazing, as artists and as humans, and they will *never* lose their place at the top of my list... they might share the spot at times (not so far), but they'll never be moved, they will always be first. They're the ones who pulled me in with 1 song and had me (happily) trapped before I'd heard a handful of tracks. They literally have music for every mood I've experienced. Jumping onto the ATEEZ voyage is fun, and none of us will tell you to not share your journey with us. Most of us don't mind pausing, since it means you won't miss things while commenting on the thing you just saw or heard. I honestly suggest starting at the beginning in terms of MV chronology (this won't fit their actual lore timeline, but that's okay because it's not even finished so it makes more sense in my mind to just experience the guys from start to finish). If you REALLY want to start at the beginning, check out their dance vids when they were known as "KQ Fellaz" (pre-debut)... otherwise it's "Pirate King" and "Treasure" (their debut title & companion tracks, which are totally different from each other). Always watch their MVs to the end, since some have teasers or extras; even if you decide you don't care about the lore at all, you'll end up with people telling you that you need to do it, so I figured I'd throw it out there right away. I mean, honestly though, you're not gonna go wrong. They don't have a bad track. That's not to say that everyone will like everything they do, that's impossible... just meaning that everything they do really is that good, and they've got something for everyone. Most of their songs have a deeper meaning because they're very lore-heavy, but they can be enjoyed with no knowledge of the lore at all. Anything you listen to is going to help you flesh out the whole view of who ATEEZ is and what they do, and I guarantee that as long as you don't give up and jump ship, you'll find tracks you love. Black Cat Nero ~ The guy who joins them at the end of "Black Cat Nero" is Kim Jong Kook, from the Turbo (1st gen group that actually recorded the original song). ATEEZ covered it on a competition show; KJK was there watching when they performed, and loved their version so much that he collaborated with them for this MV. It's cute that the song brings him back from the dead here; Turbo debuted in 1995, before ANY of the members of ATEEZ were born (the oldest two, Seonghwa and Captain Hongjoon, were born in 1998). The dance (at least the main part, not sure about all) is the one Turbo did in their version (I watched a reaction by some Korean fans who literally screamed with glee when they saw the dance, and jumped for joy when KJK showed up and danced with ATEEZ). The guy who did the masked dance here was NOT the main dancer, he was our beloved Captain Hongjoong. How this song sounded is THEIR version of it, not the original. The Real ~ MV concept is based on a Korean martial arts comedy movie called "Volcano High". I can't speak to the actual movie since I haven't seen it. In the MV, though, we have Mingi playing a transfer who comes equipped with his own code of morals and style, ready to stand on his own. The clubs each put priority on specific traits, and they want Mingi to join them. Everything from this point onward is just my interpretation of what's going on. - calligraphy club = "humility", "respect", "be polite" (these are in English on the hanging papers) - biker club = "loyalty", "faith" (English graffiti on the wall behind them) - baseball club = "humility", "kindness" (sung by them) When the "showdown" happens, they're left with a book that tells them that ALL of those traits are necessary, but with the addition of "be yourself" (which is seen several places around the school itself). So essentially, infuse your true self with those traits, and then always be authentic. The song lyrics help drive home that message, in my opinion. Oh, and Yeosang (the one who's on the sidelines watching until the end) is kind of a symbol of peace (white birds; and the bread may be a reference to breaking bread as a peaceful gesture); when he shows up everyone goes still and silent, until he releases the tension and everything's a party with all the groups now combined and having fun together. Yeosang is my bias, by a long shot. Yes, Mingi is the guy you liked from "Black Cat Nero", the rapper with the deep voice. If you like mullets, there was a whole era of Captain having one, too, and it looks so good on him that it's been named the Hullet. I swear these guys are the only ones who can pull off that style in a way that I can appreciate. The guy with the earring is Seonghwa. He's the oldest, and occasionally referred to as Mom-hwa because he definitely co-parents with Captain and mothers the others. He's beautiful. Deja Vu ~ Yunho pulls us in right away. San makes eyes and moves at the camera, trying to melt the screen. Wooyoung gets his beautiful flower shot. Yeosang balances things out with his lovely deep voice and even deeper gaze. (His eyes can pierce souls. Prove me wrong.) Seonghwa moves like liquid, and yes is the ultimate gender envy because the man is just perfection. Jongho pops in during the chorus, surrounded by laser lights. Captain Hongjoong starts off our rapped verse, and I love how he does this one. Mingi is next with soft and deep tone rapping, sensual inhalation and hiss, a bit of beautiful vocals, and whispered wrap-up, lol. So, umm, there's a Halloween performance vid of this song. They're vampires. You need to watch it... you're welcome. (Actually, you want to see "Inception", too. Trust me. Your reaction to stuff in this video made that clear to me.) Halazia ~ I won't point out who is who in this one, because I know I saw a comment where someone already did (from the ones I did manage to read). The lore really is too deep to get into here, but I'll put a link to a blog I'm personally reading lately when I don't feel like my head is exploding. Yeosang's lows in this song are my heaven; I can't even say enough how much I love the tone of his voice, and I'm constantly having to turn it up when his part comes around. I can't say I'm upset by the bare arms, either, because he's been working hard to prove he's a Doberman (not a Maltese). It's been said that the worst dancer in ATEEZ could be the main dancer in other Kpop groups; really, though, I'd be hard-pressed to even tell you who's "better" or "worse" in ATEEZ is because they're all so darn good with their own styles. They can also all sing, with several of them able to hit nice highs and lows (Jongho will forever be our sky-high king, though); and there are examples of other members (not Captain, Mingi, or even Seonghwa) rapping during interviews and shows. I have to assume someone already mentioned it, but I haven't looked through every comment here... so I'll say the very best guide is this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9qIZtxqr8DMcnU.html&pp=ygUQYXRlZXogZ3VpZGUgMjAyMw%3D%3D It's by "ofallthekennys", and updated for 2023. It's LONG, but gives a very in-depth look at who our guys are as artists and people. Trust me when I say it's worth the time it takes to get through it, and if you want to share your reaction with us then I know I'd love to see it even if it's divided into 5 parts or something. And, just a word of warning. You'll be saying or thinking "He can't be looking at me like that" A LOT with these guys. I'm literally old enough to be their mom (my oldest is 16 days older than Captain) and they even test me at times, despite me repeatedly saying I see them like my own kids... lol. Lastly, there's a lot of lore stuff out there, truly. Some of it is easier to understand, some is harder. None of us really knows just how "right" we are, and we all have to assume there's still more to be released as they continue to make music. Still, as a fairly new ATINY myself, I'm finding this one to be at least helpful in trying to halfway wrap my brain around it all ~ www.ateezstoryline.com/post/ateez-storyline-updated-april-2023

i'm 5 minutes in and I already love your reactions so much yes, the man in the first video is called turbo, he's not part of the group so don't worry about calling him "a bit older" haha and the first song is actually a cover of the song Balck Cat Nero and they arranged it for a music show contest where they won and the judge was turbo (he liked their cover so much that he even agreed to take part in the MV of the cover itself) and he also then made a collab with ateez for a new song called Be my lover

from this video, i definitely think you're mingi-biased! if you liked halazia, i think you'll like inception, treasure, and precious. these songs make me ascend. i would also recommend cyberpunk and take me home, these two are absolute fan favorites when it comes to b-sides. do listen to their album the world ep.1: movement too. it's so cohesive and flows perfectly from the first track to the last. have fun discovering more of ateez! they're my ult and no one compares to them for me honestly. loved your video!

in terms of the album for Halazia, it was kind of a filler single title track album that just had remixes (that you didn't hear from me but other remixes they've had are better but oop-) anyways i do like the outro on the track, i think its really nice... ateez is kinda known for their hype and angsty title tracks but they have really good cheery, summer, and ballady winter tracks (more prevalently as b-sides... ofc with a few outliers WAVE, ILLUSION, Eternal Sunshine, Turbulence, etc.) so if you're into more than just the average ateez title track I would really recommend listening to their b-sides as well! ^Even their JP albums are good, though some are OSTs/for Animes so they would obviously have somewhat different production styles. i still love it anyways!

Thank you for checking out ateez and deciding to give them a chance!!! You should totally listen to guerrilla and it's whole ep - the world ep 1. Halazia was supposed to be part of that ep but they released it as a single after it and if you listen to the whole ep, you'll understand why. Hope you listen to more ateez PS - the deep voiced rapper's name is mingi and you're absolutely right, both the rappers (mingi and hongjoong) have been writing lyrics since ateez's debut.

24:03 "I'm just watching how their bodies move" Same. Same. Respectfully. ... Welcome to the obsession that is our 8 [makes 1 team]. Yes, to answer your question, you should definitely should continue watching them. It's sort of funny/random/wholesome that you started with Black Cat Nero just because of what it really is, a cover of a much older cover of a much older song. :) It's not hard to fall for Mingi's deep-voiced rap, and if he ends up truly being your bias, no one will fault you. It's also hard not to love our ship's captain, Hong Joong, after his rap in Deja Vu and his speed rap in Halazia. He's a smol musical powerhouse, and he's got to be one of the kindest people on the planet. Seonghwa is the white-haired one in Halazia and the "gender envy" one in Deja Vu. And yes, he really is that beautiful, just like ... Yeosang, the deep-voiced one in Halazia and the pretty butterfly holder in Deja Vu. He's quietly an all-arounder and effortlessly stunning. San was the uber sexy one with the slow gaze up into the camera in Deja Vu, and the orange-jacket first speaker in The Real. He's a performance beast with a jaw that can cut glass, and he's insanely talented, too. His usual partner in crime (read: the other half of the group's most popular ship) is Wooyoung, who threw the baseball in The Real and was the red-haired center during the EDM part of Halazia. He's known within the group to be the sexy member, but there are fights about that title. ;) Yunho is our dance king, but he also wowed you in Halazia with the smooth voice while making stones levitate. A golden retriever of a tall man, with a sweet smile and a boyfriend vibe that can drop to bad boy in an instant. Also a lead actor, that one. Finally, our youngest: apple breaker, golden-voiced main vocalist and high-note belter extraordinaire, he's also a spectacular dancer, not scared of anything, and has a wonderful sense of humor. The bear of the group, with a warm heart and a sweet smile. Next up, I'd honestly suggest starting at the beginning. They debuted with double title tracks Pirate King and Treasure, and both are recommended for anyone in potential Mingi bias territory. If Pirate King is your jam, follow with Hala Hala and Answer. If Treasure is your fave, go with Say My Name and try Japanese Utopia for funsies. Welcome to the obsession!

Oh my- Hope you can become an "Atiny" like me. I was answering everything you asked while watching the video so just in case Deep voice rapper: Song Mingi (his rap usually starts with a "Fix On") The other rapper: Hongjoong (his rap starts with the giggle) The boy with red hair in Halazia is Wooyoung atiny think of him as a Fox The one in Deja Vu with the haircut is San (he is sweet and is known for his voice and presence The one with the deep voice (Halazia) yet cute (The real also the toast on his mouth) is Yeosang The one is Halazia that was sitting down with pretty vocals is Yunho (he is mostly know as the vitamin of the group) The pink hair guy in "The Real" also with the feminine features in "Deja Vu" is Seonghwa I hope you take the ride Ateez has a variety of music. Also the Black Cat Nero is a cover of a children's song they won a show with it. THANKS FOR YOUR HONESTY WHILE REACTING TO THEM :)❤

if you dont usually care for remixes of songs then i would suggest not listening to the rest of spin off: from witness bc it was actually just a single album with halazia as the main track and the rest of the songs on it are just remixes of songs from past albums and the only other fully new track is an instrumental outro, they dont sing on it. i would really highly suggest listening to the world ep 1: movement album though, its my absolute favorite album of theirs by far. I think a few songs on there have a similar vibe to halazia. Halazia was actually almost going to be on that album but they decided not to do it. I think it mightve been because they wanted to use halazia for furthering their lore storyline, so it was better to wait to release it separately to have it be the focus. Other ateez songs similar to halazia would probably be inception on the fever: part 1 album and maybe answer from the treasure epilogue album

@@BriBee1235 Ngl, after seeing the cat, I automatically thought it was the cat making noise later on in the video. Then I realized it had to be a dog, but not before wondering why that cat was playing so loud and aggressively, sounding like a goblin. I couldn't shake the image after that, which led to a lot of laughter. 😄
