I think the name "Socialist Republic of Germany" would've fit better since the term "Peoples Republic" wasnt really used for socialist countries until the cold war.

For everyone's context, the Austro-Hungarian Empire didn't exist in this timeline. The Hungarians won independence during their 1848 revolution and all that remained before 1871 was a rump state version of the previously existing Austrian Empire. They were easy pickings once Germany became a united entity.

Personally I think that the German invasion of Austria would occur at the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire, not straight after the Franco-Prussian war. I'd imagine that if it happened the other European powers would have prevented it, but interesting timeline nonetheless. Edit; I think it would be more realistic if Hitler was killed by the opposition in the Munich putsch, he only committed suicide because he thought the situation was hopeless towards the end of WW2 and also if he was shot by a communist then it could have given them more support for defeating the nazis which would make the socialist revolution more realistic.

In this scenario Hungarians won the Revolution of 1848 - Austro-Hungary never was created. Also, Hitler actually tried to commit suicide after failure of Munich Putsch. He feared being taken to prison

@@pomernguy1835 It can have indenpence from Sweden in 1689 and attack to Russia with UK and got Karelia, Kola Peninsula and Ingria. Then in year 1754 they attack to Estonia. I didn't come up with the rest. I know perfect map but I can't send it to you. Try to search alternative Finno-Ugric flag from google and flag has White, blue, red and green and Black.

I see. So this is one of the reasons that Austria collapsed. Interesting. Also that is one thick German Empire. I like it. Of course, the empire is giving its noogie to Bohemia. like it always should. The division of Germany seems more natural and, Again, I'm happy Prussia isn't dead. The elimination of Prussianism was probably the worst thing that the First and Second Worlds could have done after WW2. Like seriously? Hitler was a freaking Austrian. If the allies wanted to eliminate the source of the problem, then they should have eliminated Austria, the place which gave birth to the dictator, not Prussia, a place whose only fault was being separated because Poland needed a freaking Sea Corridor corridor for some reason. Like the least the allies could have done is not split East Prussia away from the rest of Germany.
