Plan for this Workshop Press: www.etsy.com/de/listing/14317...
Plans to my Projects:
madebythemetalist.etsy.com
I finally finished this project. A hydraulic workshop press that you can put on the table. I've had the hydraulic cylinder lying around with me for ages. With the threaded rods you can easily adjust the height of the table or the press. With this system you can also easily convert the system with the hand-pumping cylinder to an automatic system. You only have to build a new holder for the cylinder. I will definitely do that soon too. The idea of the simple press brake came to me very spontaneously. There are plans to build another one. But this will be a bit more complex :)

Not the fact the frame is insufficient for the jack potential .... that's not a 20t press it's a 20t jack on a lower rated frame and far to big for the job . You can't learn off bad teachers

@@LifesAbe-ach I fully disagree. It's not a professional meant machine but purely for the hobbyists which don't care too much about minute tolerances.. What the exact name is, isn't interesting or how many tons it can press. It's about the concept offered to us, like you, to learn and improve ourselves. If you watch all his vids, you will immediately notice, that The Metalist is able to improvice utterly technical, fabricating things out of the blue. I like him very much and nothing is perfect. Don't take it personal.

Cool, but I think 20 tons is optimistic. That's the weight of 12+ cars on the nut threads and relatively thin sheet metal.
@felixe.8402
@felixe.8402 Жыл бұрын
The threaded rods and the nuts will be the last part that failed. It looks like M24 or larger: One rod (and also the nuts) in grade 8.8 can handle around 22,5 tons of static load (streching) - there are four of them. The least trust I have into the pipe- pieces which have to hold the cross forces of the bending flat steel.
@jakubpukovec7755
@jakubpukovec7755 4 ай бұрын
I expect the plates and tubes can manage 20 tons. The main steel plates and tubes are reinforced by another thick steel plates welded vertically to the horizontal plates. Threaded rods will also withstand the load. IMO the weakest part would be the 20 ton lift - you know, you cannot use it's full potential anyway in case you are unable to measure the pressure, otherwise damage to the lift is inevitable. So it's still only theoretical load in praxis :). Maybe the lower and upper nuts might be weak point, not sure whether the thread on one nut and / or rod can withstand the load of 2.5 ton. Probably additional 8 nuts would fix it (1.25T for 1 nut).
@jakubpukovec7755
@jakubpukovec7755 4 ай бұрын
Hmm, should be fine. For instance only one M20 10.9 bolt can withstand ~20 ton of maximum tensile force

Take away the materials and might be only 100/150$. I've built a lot of stuff like this. Mostly because HF didn't have anything like what I needed. Like a jig to true tires mounted on my 6 hole rims. Or the tenoning jig for when I was building log furniture. For a press it's HF here I come. I have their pipe bender which is only 8 ton but I have done a lot of press operations with it.

@helmutk.2583
@helmutk.2583 Жыл бұрын
1 mm trennen. Viel Glück!
@TheMetalist
@TheMetalist Жыл бұрын
@helmutk.2583
@helmutk.2583 Жыл бұрын
