I'll show you how to change your 12 volt battery on a 2016 2017 2018 or 2019 Chevrolet Volt. Easy job to do at your own home in about 10 minutes. Avoid dealerships and save money!
Supplies and tools:
- H5 / Group 47 AGM Vented Battery
ACDelco Gold 47 - amzn.to/44nBgYr
- 10mm and 13mm Socket w/ at least 6" Extension
Socket Set - amzn.to/4blp9NL
- Flat Blade Screwdriver
Screwdriver Set - amzn.to/3JKImMY
You DO NOT need to remove and disassemble your trunk. The entire process should take less than 10 minutes if you have the above tools and supplies ready.
Lastly, recycle your old battery. This can be done at many places including O'Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, and Autozone.

Glad it helped. I was putting off replacing mine for a while until signs of it going bad. Never did. Even after 7 years it still load tested like new at a little over 600 cranking amps! Now I have a battery to use for another project.

It's weird how a low 12v battery on these cars will cause random electrical gremlins.

My battery was still good, but after reading you should be using an AC Delco (or equivalent) agm, I decided to replace it with one from the Chevy dealer. Well I don't know what that stupid battery did to my volt, because it threw 10 million check engine lights, and now I can't charge the main battery . Why.
