Best video I have seen for doing a DIY dredge. I knew it was simple and you demonstrated it perfectly. Thank you.

Nice Job I was thinking about doing the same as what you have put together to keep the cost down with off the shelf parts great Idea for the aluminum jet nozzle. Thanks for Sharing :)

I think you should go straight rather than having the bends at the end. I just bought a 4" suction nozzle and seems like that'd work just as good lol good vids!
@alexsmith53728 жыл бұрын
id just go strait into the crash box but try it the the other way anyway nice job
@larryrobinson42885 жыл бұрын
Go straight then slow it down in the header box That way you get max water flow The curve would reduce the water flow and you also may get more plug ups You can always slow it down in the header box.
@Vernon19608 жыл бұрын
Straight will be fewer headaches with respect to material jams.... If the flow is too high simply restrict the flow from the pump. OR... the baffle idea in the slosh pan would be better.

Great video, What size is the energy drink top that you put in for the jet?

Wowww keren

You would be further ahead to keep your power jet straight, cause if you put the 90* you'll have clogging issues.
@donniekennedy62258 жыл бұрын
awesome design!!! go straight or bent? try both but I don't think it'll make much difference. keep 'em comin'!!!!!!!!!!
@djpitr8 жыл бұрын
+Donnie Kennedy thanks i will go straight and see if its not too fast , the crush box should slow it donw enuf
@GF_Burke8 жыл бұрын
You'd be good with the bend. With that much water flow. Unless you put a reverse flair on that crashbox, then straight would be fine too. I think straight with no flair will slosh stuff out.
@djpitr8 жыл бұрын
+Jamie Burke thanks jamie , i will try straight first and see how much the crashbox will slow it down

Go straight!

I did , it worked great , sold the dredge long time ago :) thanks for watching

If you use the curved pipe it's going to cause a bottle neck and most of the gold will not be able to get to slose the strate is the best option

I really enjoyed this video and would like to build a 4 inch dredge myself. I'm on a shoe string budget so could you tell me where you bought the 4 inch suction hose. I need to keep my cost down as low as I possibly can. Thanks!

Thomas Hardee thanks , the hose i use its used for petroleum transfer, search for tanker suply , or any local tanker company , chemical or petroleum , u can call them and ask where they getting their hoses , if you find local company who make the hoses for them ho there , many times they have leftovers pieces that they let u have it , or they will cut u length you need :) , and if you find local tanker company you can go there too and ask for some old hoses if you want them free :) manytimes they change hoses every couple of years :)

Thomas Hardee and same thing with the mats , vortex mats are nothing else then convert belt , look for local company who makes custom belts for machinery , go and ask for leftovers they trow away lot of good rubber mats that can be used in sluice :)

Thanks for the info on the hose and mats! Is that hose very flexible? and how is the power jet holding up?
@djpitr6 жыл бұрын
