Instead of ones and zeros, you have the absence or presence of electricity converted into ones and zeros by I believe the modem. And fiber optic internet works by the absence or presence of light. Because it is light instead of electricity traveling down the cable ( or in this case a glass fiber thread surrounded by plastic ) fiber optic internet is alot faster.

@@makspaprocki8851 (I know that it's pretty late, but someone already dug this comment up a year ago, so I will do the same, but with more information) It was South Korea. The turret you had in mind is probably SGR-A1 developed by Samsung Techwin (yeah, Samsung was manufacturing weapons. Not only this turret, but also self propelled artillery, fighter jets and components for tanks. They sold this part of their business to Hanwha in 2014.) or Super aEgis II by DoDaam. Both were tested in DMZ, but due to secretive nature of these projects, information about their deployment is classified (so we have no idea how many of them are there or even if they are still there).

it's famous for selling "furniture" that includes instructions that take a year to decipher, missing pieces, and millions of parts

@@isaiahf-d846 to be fair, the instructions are designed so that almost anyone in the world, regardless of language, can assemble the furniture. Sure it might take a bit to figure them out, but you try to describe how to assemble a bed using only pictures to someone with a drastically different culture to yours. (Kind of crazy side tangent: scientists are actually looking at some of the techniques Ikea uses for making languageless instructions, mainly for the storage of nuclear waste. Because it will take thousands or millions of years for it to not be radioactive anymore, it is likely that all languages today will no longer exist, as well as countries and cultures, replaced by ones that are very different. This means they have to use things that are "hard-coded" into humans, like a fear of snakes, or a focus on the color red, rather than using symbols that, while it may be mostly universally recognized today(such as the radiation, biohazard, or peace symbol), they will likely make as much sense to a far-future person as Egyptian hieroglyphs do to us. One approach they are looking into is "scary" architecture, basically covering the entrance in spikes and all sorts of other stuff, thinking "nobody will ever explore a spooky looking ancient building", which, I mean, come on, that's probably just going to make people really want to explore it. Another, more practical, one is basically IKEA-ing descriptions of radiation poisoning, and how there is radioactive material inside. Some of the proposed designs try to explain how radiation works, which, yikes, that's basically a physics textbook in picture format. These picture graphics are unable to convey words or sounds, but rather just concepts, making them extremely difficult to design and read. If you didn't think languageless-communication was crazy enough yet, though, it may be used as a "proof of intelligence" to any other intelligent alien life we find, where we express mathematical concepts and formulas in the form of shapes. For instance, Pythagorean's theorem is a triangle surrounded by 3 squares, each corresponding to the side lengths, with largest square representing "c^2" being made of both a^2 and b^2, the shorter "legs". This, while it might not seem like much, is demonstrating a pretty impressive part of trigonometry, and is a way to demonstrate mathematical knowledge without needing any kind of translator or even personal interaction. Basically IKEA's instructions, while somewhat frustrating, may one day prevent a nuclear disaster, or aid in interstellar diplomacy.)
