Thanks for the video ...here in my city many doctors don't understand the actual concept of arch and feet pain. I will definitely give it a try.

Thank you for your kindness in sharing your knowledge. I have had damage to Achilles tendon and plantar fasciitis for 10 months and made these arch supports last night. Its wonderful for pain not to be so bad. I made a pad for my heel too. God bless you.

Akshay: Yes, I am familiar with each of these products. So it sounds as if the limiting factor here is that your shoe does not have a removable insole so you must use a cookie. Just like an otc arch support, the effectiveness of an arch cookie will also be balanced by the height of the cookie versus its compressibility. In other words, if the cookie miraculously fit your arch perfect but was made out of concrete you would hate it because it would be uncomfortable to wear.. On the other hand, if a perfectly fitting cookie was made out of warm butter you would crush it and it would not be an effective support.. Whether you are looking for an arch support or an arch cookie your goal should be to find one that is closest to your arch yet still provides comfort because it is not too hard and is effective because it is not too soft. Since the arch cookie is not customized to you there is no way to know which of these products will work best until you try it.

I know that there are pre made pads that have an adhesive back. Whether they can be delivered to the UK I have no idea. Thanks for the comment.

Try going to a fabric or craft store if you haven't found what you need. They might be able to help you. :-)

Hello there! Me again. So, the arch supports I built from felt have slipped inwards by like 4cm. Like they've been pushed up the side of my shoe. The very bottom layer of the felt (with the adhesive) sort of... stretched? The upper felt layers are intact. I used furniture felt as I couldn't easily find any orthopedic felt. Could this be the problem? Have you seen this happen before with insoles you've modified with felt for your patients? No worries if you're not sure. I'll experiment some more. I just thought I could save myself some trouble if you already know the secret! Thanks again for your useful and informative video.

I do not know what furniture felt is. Occasionally that does happen with the ortho felt but not that often. The solution has always been to simply replace the felt or more expensive options that require custom work.

@@frugalfoot4973 No worries! I appreciate your reply. I'll experiment some more :) Furniture felt is just thick pads of adhesive felt you can cut to size (to protect wooden floors from tables, chairs etc). I thought it would probably work the same way.

You can make the arch support as high as you want by simply adding more felt.

Not durable I think I did lots of them for all my shoes,, especially unused insoles can be sticked under with 2 sided band, by that way insoles do not move and clean
