DIY Areator Venturi that produce fine micro bubbles [Tutorial]

Learn how to make your own DIY Venturi aeration and supply oxygen to your fish without the need of an air pump.
This version allows the venturi to generate fine micro bubbles and could use it as a co2 diffuser too!

Lily pipe ni bukan gelas, ni jenis acrylic saiz 25mm.

Did you see any difference in the fish, plants, or algae after using the microbbuble head? Particularly - did you see a reduction of algae?

I have stop using it because I wanted to avoid having too many micro bubbles in my tank. I prefer a clearer water view of my tank.

I couldn't tell. Should have made a difference to the fish since more air is diluted so more oxygen for the fish

It's not working because you need to have a proper ratio of pressure, from low pressure to high pressure then back to low pressure, the air tube is placed at the high pressure cavity, this will cause it to make more bubbles. Or you can simply use a smaller tube design for everything since the water pump is not that powerful.

It was/is the white connector thats the problem its leaking around those threads the venturi works only when sealed to create those low pressures that pull air from the tube on the top, the end of the video shows the solution the clear tube will seal around those threads allowing the system to work properly

I haven't try it but i have seen some video using a external pump to do it. But seems like that motor will be very loud and noisy. In what application do you need such fine air bubbles? It will mist up the entire tank right?

Erm..video blh pause kan. Kalau u nak saya listkan parts semua..saya jugak kena tengok balik video je..so sama je.either kamu tengok balik ataupun saya tengok balik dan listkan part..tapi saya sekarang tak de masa, agak bz sikit..so tak dapat nak listkan parts. Maaf ye.

Just beware of too fine bubbles. In the quest of making finer bubbles, making a narrower venturi will certainly be a success. However the air maybe super-saturated or compressed. As it exits the larger outlet, the dissolved compressed air will readjust itself. It is fine if it happens in the open. But if it happens in the fish system, the fish may get bends, like a deep diver comming up too fast. Just keep a watch on your fish. If they are fine then your venturi is set about right. Just a caution. Edit: power heads usually have the small side air intake for aeration. Just add an airline valve for aircontrol.

Thanks for the info. So far the fish are doing fine. The fine micro bubbles is just a project that I wanted to do because I saw somewhere where there was a debate on doing CO2 misting vs CO2 getting dissolved complete in an inline diffuser.

Yes..if one wants to achieve misting. This micro Venturi can work..im also working on a diy project for inline diffuser.
